Too straight no reaction
I don't care if I'm not in fashion
I will follow you
I will follow you
Its hearts up heads down puddle of red wine
You get back up and you face the crime
I will follow you
Something in me almost breaks but I wait
(I'm sinking in my skin)
Yeah, I wait
(My heart is wearing thin)
'Cuz I'm looking for something beautiful
You cut me up and you make me bleed
A sad stained heart hanging on my sleeve
I'll still follow you
I will follow you
And you say look up look up look all around you
Can't you see the love that surrounds the very soul of you
Something in me almost breaks but I wait
(I'm sinking in my skin)
Yeah, I wait
(My heart is wearing thin)
'Cuz I'm looking for something beautiful
And I wait
(For it to go right in)
Don't come all day
(My heart is wearing thin)
That I fall upon something beautiful, something meaningful
You still your soul, I'll risk it all
Your fearless beauty breaks your fall
Something in me knows there's something more
And it's so close I wanna run, but I wait
(I'm sinking in my skin)
And I wait
(My heart is wearing thin)
'Cuz I'm looking for something beautiful
And I wait

This is better than a 6.9, folks. Makes me feel guilty for only having it rated an 8. I saw Tracy open for Catherine Wheel ~15 years when she was touring her 2nd album - great show!

There are some fabulous modalities here.
EDIT - have moved it 8 -> 9. It's both immediately accessible and slightly weird. That's my jam.

My wife and I attended a Blue Man Group Concert in Houston, approx. 15 yrs years ago. I remember a group named "Venus Hum" was an opening act, along with Tracy Bonham. When she played this song -- I was hooked! Great song.

She created something beautiful there!
The closest I get to believing in divinity is when a shuffled song comes on that fits my mood perfectly. This is so often that song.
I have been contemplating next moves - both in my relationship and residentially. How appropos in my current state. Looking for that “something beautiful” to quell my searching…
But I wait.

I can definitely hear some of the Pink / KT Tunstall vibes of the mid-2000s in this song.

This song always makes me stop what I'm doing and crank it up... I love how she dives into and through the intense, passionate vocal stylings I dig in the voices of Poe, Chrissy Hynde, and Gwen Stefani, and hey, the music and arrangement here are top-notch too!
Very nice song
And we all need something beautiful in our lives

I finally figured out what the opening lines remind me of. The song "Lucky" by Bif Naked.
Nice segue from Slowdive. : )
This song makes me want to give Tracy a hug and tell her it's going to be alright. Poor broken hearted angel, thank you for this beautiful song.

And today, March 16, is the Bonham's birthday. Nice tune, Tracy.
Mellow mix? Tracy? B&G stretch the definition of mellow.

Love this song so much. Surprised it wasn't more popular. My voice cracks when I try to hit those high notes. LOL
I like this song, should have been a hit...
I only know this song by Ms. Bonham, from RP (thanks!) - but it KICKS ASS!

Love this. Great tension just before the chorus.
Glad to hear it back in rotation, she has a fairly unique voice and a great range which she uses to good effect. Songwriting, instrumentation and mix on this track is fab too.
This is a really beautiful melody...and that's a testament to real musical talent—not just technical prowess, but just being able to make a really great song.
What an amazing song. Tracy at her best.

I think this song is a gem. And by that I mean i discovered it on RP, gave it a 9, and have searched the Tracy Bonham catalog for others, but have found only rocks. Great song, but for me its a one-off from this artist. Have yet to hear another from her I cared for.

So sweet
Ahhhhhhh, that hit the spot...
the E guitar is not simply an instrument
it is rather a body
alike body formed itself in space and time
this represents a relationship with you
same with the E Bass Guitar
sane teaching the some bodys
to renew
a clue in music
and also for those who do not want
to have a thing to do with it
the shape of it
appears male or female
so this may be hypothesis
that an instrument developed
by a makers mind
and even with a moral
training
a schoolarship could be tremendous awesome
or not at all
the pupil
expertises flaw and flow
like alice in a fairy
dealing the little to less invention
what - the first and often a virgin anoysence
of touching frails could mean .these days
a BBC broadcasting event ...
of rather selfs or made with the philosophies of adhearend
any pupil dreams ..of a river that runs dry
and therefore matters an awfull boredom
pretending to have moral and knowledge
of the stealthy circumstances - while listening to it.
the instrument liquouered
in colors of some radiance
later on it vanished in the spheres
an consequently the statistic is with the one
who is to find a measureable price in it all
if sane or not sane
music live on
blog or unblog the informational world
maybe for me and my daughter..

So, it's 11:52 here in the NY suburbs, and I've been sitting in my backyard with my iPhone headphones playing RP for over 40 minutes. I'm wondering if I should've instead gone to the Tracy Bonham show down in Manhattan this evening rather than opting to park myself in a chair, with mosquitoes circling, to search the heavens for the just past-peak Perseid meteor show. She's probably on stage right now & I have a sheet wrapped around me to stave off the feeding frenzy. It's getting cooler and damp.
Where are the shooting stars? Am I too late? Are they over? Not one? I hate second guessing my decisions. I crane my neck skyward. My arm is going numb from the awkward position needed to keep the sheet from unravelling. I am losing faith in the moment.
Suddenly, a streak of cosmic dust blasts across the sky in a long, but fading blaze of light - just as "Something Beautiful" begins playing.
I smile slowly.
Her lyrics say,
"But I wait
I’m sinking in my skin
And I wait
My heart is wearing thin
‘Cause I’m looking for
Something beautiful"
Saw one. Something beautiful. I'm done. Time for bed. Thanks Tracy. Maybe next time.
