How the Cybertruck blast revealed the extent of Tesla's sprawling surveillance capacity
Tesla founder Elon Musk's response to the Cybertruck blast in Las Vegas reveals the extent to which his vehicles monitor their users' behaviors, and his decision to provide law enforcement information regarding the truck's telemetry before the explosion also differs from the actions taken by other technology companies during similar situations.

Musk or someone with the automaker remotely unlocked the truck for law enforcement officials and provided them video from charging stations to track down the vehicle's locations prior to the explosion on New Year's Day, according to information police released.

Tesla vehicles are equipped with the highest number of onboard cameras among stock car models.
Each Tesla is outfitted with nine cameras:

• Eight external cameras: These provide a 360-degree view around the vehicle, supporting features like Autopilot and Sentry Mode.

• One interior camera: Positioned inside the cabin, primarily used for *driver monitoring and future autonomous functionalities.
This comprehensive camera suite enhances Tesla’s advanced driver-assistance systems and security features.
*They really are watching you...

Harold G. Hamm, the billionaire oil and gas executive who helped bankroll Donald J. Trump’s campaign and stands to profit from his energy policies, is hosting an exclusive fossil fuel industry celebration on Inauguration Day.

The daytime party on the roof of the historic Hay-Adams Hotel, a block from the White House, will be a moment of triumph for Mr. Hamm, who poured more than $4.3 million into political action committees supporting Mr. Trump.

Mr. Hamm, the founder of Oklahoma-based Continental Resources, has been influential in Mr. Trump’s plans to gut environmental protections and allow unfettered access by energy companies to federal land and waters. He also helped raise money from others in the oil and gas industry, which spent more than $75 million on efforts to elect Mr. Trump.

What is Power to Trump? — Money
Who has the most of it? — Musk
Indebted, lame duck President trying to stay out of jail, will rollover for Elon "I've got you by the short & curlies" Musk.

Citizen's United has reached it's zenith.

However, the honeymoon will end once the need for real governing begins. This divorce will be ugly.

I have to agree with the reply.  Growing up in the SF Bay Area during the 50's and 60's, the Asian culture was very present. The WWII interment camps were closed only a few years prior and many returned to the Bay Area. The family was everything.  Honour, trust and respect.  How the generations took care of each other along with the calm respect it requires.  I contrasted that with the other cultures also present.  I concluded back then that the Asian way was the best way and tried my best to apply what I learned later as a parent.  Not saying I succeeded but it was my role model for parenting.

Here Come The Anti-Woke Venture Capitalists
As Silicon Valley leaders decry ‘wokeism,’ a group called New Founding that says its “birthright is to lead Western civilization” is among the firms building a new blueprint for VC — and billionaire Marc Andreessen is in.
Earlier this year, a little-known company called New Founding made headlines when it announced plans to build a Christian enclave in Kentucky — an “aligned community'” where owners could “disappear from the cultural insanity of the broader country.” But building a village was just the beginning.

Now, New Founding has launched a venture capital fund to invest in what it calls “aligned companies,” startups that oppose progressive ideologies and are intent on both “cultural and economic disruption.” It’s one of a small but growing number of VCs vocally rejecting ‘wokeism’ and building their investment thesis on core conservative values.

New Founding’s investments are one tentpole of a broader goal: to remake society with a largely MAGA, tech-driven, Christian worldview. It decries leftists as “anti-human,” celebrates technology as a singular force that will define a new era of prosperity, loves crypto and sees the internet (“deeply American in ethos and design”) as a means to its ends. “Our project offers a powerful avenue,” a manifesto on its website published in July reads, “both to develop the class of people who can ultimately challenge the incumbent regime and to acquire the resources, territory, and institutions that will enable this effort.” (...)
