Thanks @jarro, only 25km/15mi from where I live and 6 or 7 routers in between, So really close indeed. No drop outs this evening and yesterday was also very stable. I'll use mtr next time I have this issue.

For more info you'd have to look into some tracing apps to see where the packet loss is happening.
Can use mtr to monitor that.

In the past someone managed to track down a bad relay on DT's network and after a few complaints got them to fix it.
But usually have to wait it out.
