I'd probably be okay grabbing a US snake but only a few of ours are actually dangerous. I'm sure Aussie snakes are capable of making me bleed from my eyes while my bones dissolve.
.. and that's just the ones that only look at you. The bitey ones are worse.
The brave girl's father said he was "proud" of his daughter for having the "guts to pick up an Australian Deathfang snake and save her pet's life"

If that day does come up be sure to give us a hoy there Kurt . We are very blessed living in one of the best places on earth and would like to share it with you.
Mind you you wouldn't want to just visit Perth, the state of Western Australia is only 4 times the size of Texas so you will need some time exploring our 20,000 kms coastline.
BTW my old boss the late Kevin Parry ran the failed Americas Cup campaign here against you guys with "Kookaburra 3"
Unfortunately I've only been to Perth once and it was for a conference so I didn't see a lot. There was a field trip though so I saw some of the beautiful area and stuck a finger in the Indian Ocean. That meant I've been to all the oceans in the world (unless you consider the south Atlantic different from the north)
I want to go back. Not sure I'm up for the drive though.

Yeah... that's cool! Thanks!
I've always have been interested in the Indian Ocean. Something about the atmosphere.
I've always been fascinated with Perth.
The America's Cup being there... and the beauty of the Indian Ocean.
One of these days...

Any critter with wary in its name should get your attention right from the get go. Just because casso also happens to mean to make null and void please don't let it cloud your view of this lovely murder bird just waiting to kick your ass or maybe even kill you.
As for eating the cassowary, it is supposed to be quite tough. Australian administrative officers stationed in New Guinea were advised that it "should be cooked with a stone in the pot: when the stone is ready to eat, so is the cassowary".
