Not sure if its related to anything recently with Sonos as its no longer hooked to the mother ship.
I read that there are some apps to replace the SONOS app for apple and android and that one, with a modest fee, is topping the paid app downloads. You may still need the Sonos app to set up systems but not for everyday use.

Same problem here, Iâve been trying all sorts things, but so far nothing seems to have worked. Sonos support had me remove RP and then add it back. Still having intermittent skip/ pause issues. I tried lower bit rate but no joy
Ditto here. Although the skipping is not intermittent, it's nearly constant. A song will start and 15 seconds later it stops and another song starts, unless it simply stops playing. No relief after reinstalling and reauthorizing the app.

re-authorize Sonos to use the Tunein service by creating an account. It´s easy - just ignore the premium option

Not sure because it appears that people are having lots of random problems. One possibility is that sonos changed things to do a lot with their cloud servers so your system is trying to communicate with the cloud and that is holding up the streaming. Along with the latest sonos app update, they pushed firmware updates to your speakers and that may have buggered things.
Suggestions? Hold your breath and hope they get their shit together. Maybe try streaming at lower quality, at least to see if that helps, indicating a networking problem. I have my ancient Play:1 hardwired to a node on my mesh because that was the only way I could get it to work. Don't think I have your problem, although I do have that problem with the SOMA flac.
Agreed on lowering the bitrate. That seems to have helped listeners. We've alerted Sonos. What good that will do...??

What app are you using? From what I can tell, they are primarily developing for iOS and then trickling down to Android. I have given up on my Windows App (what I used most) for now because it won't install the updated version. Need to figure out a computer to delete the old app and try a new install.
The whole situation sucks. You could try posting to reddit r/sonos. There is one Sonos employee monitoring it and maybe someone else has some ideas. Aside from that, maybe keep trying. There seem to be random errors that sometimes resolve themselves.
The android app does seem to be slowly getting better. The bad news is that I hear there are some problems with the new headphones not complying with charging standards so you can't use higher wattage chargers. The push to release the headphones was apparently the main reason behind the release of the crappy apps and the crappy firmware upgrades. Along with changes that seem to be made to poise them to move to a subscription service rather than just supplying hardware that works.
Thanks for that! I forgot to mention Iâm on iOS 17.5.1. Iâm now working around this by playing RP on my phone then air playing it to Sonos. Not ideal but at least I can use the skip function I now canât live without and the TuneIn stream doesnât provide

The new Sonos app seems to have borked my RP integration. After upgrading the app I was able to still select RP from my services and play the streams, but it wasn't showing up in my recently played list. to try to fix that I removed the RP service, signed out of sonos, deleted the sonos app then reinstalled, then signed back into Sonos again. Now when I try to re-add the RP service I get taken to the RP page to authorize and link my account. After I get the Success message from RP I go back to the Sonos app and get an error stating "Radio Paradise wasn't added. Something went wrong. Please try again"
I've done this several times and always the same result. Anybody have any tips?

I don't know whose issue, or even, if it's an issue. Maybe the feature no longer works after the new app was released. Just inquiring about it. Scrubbrush posted a similar inquiry a couple years ago. Link to it.
- Playing Sonos Gen1 with Favorites on my home network (yes, too cheap to spend $1,000's on new system).
- Open browser and navigate to Music > What's Playing.
- At the bottom in the Drop Down should show Sonos with Favorites playing, but it's no longer working. This had been working as recent as last week.
- Stopping and closing the Sonos app and opening the Android App to Favorites, then opening the browser and navigating to Music > What's Playing shows 'android app' in the drop-down and the Favorites that are playing are listed.
It's working again.

ooof
iirc they were whinging for a while about Alexa et al. stealing their ip about how to set up multi-room streaming
If the new app weren't so borked I would be thinking it's a last-gasp attempt to position themselves for a buyout. If it was, I think they screwed the pooch.

Its not just Sonos, but I can't express how much it pisses me off when companies make changes that are solely designed to produce new revenue streams, with no benefit to the users.
