definitely part of the process, but I've been hearing (over the past 20 years) it has been exasperated in (at least in the US) because over the past 100 years we did too good of a job managing forest fires, and the amount of fuel from dead timber as a result of beetle damage. Policy on the former has shifted to preventive thinning of forests, at least in proximity to property/homes/businesses. 

Perhaps you could also argue climate change has resulted in more drought and heavier winds...I don't know.

Canada’s national broadcaster will no longer air National Hockey League games on Saturday nights, a first in about 75 years, ending a cultural institution and, for many Canadians, a national treasure.

The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, which first aired “Hockey Night in Canada” in 1931 as a radio broadcast, and Rogers Sportsnet, the N.H.L. rights-holder, could not come to terms on a sub-licensing deal. The two companies announced on Tuesday that the agreement would not be renewed for the 2026-27 season.

As a kid visiting my Grandmother in Northern Vermont, get HNIC was amazing.  I went to Howie Meeker's camp twice because if it.  Very sad.
