The other thing about that bike was that it was a birthday present and less than a year old when I started tricking it out. My Old Man just didn't get it. I had a guy on my paper route who was a house painter and his truck was Petty Blue, so I paid him 10 bucks to paint my frame the same color. Richard Petty's race shop was maybe 15 miles from where I lived. Anyhow the painter was also a KKK dude but he didn't ever lay any of that crap on me. I grew up in a pretty strange time and my hometown in particular was sort of a hotbed for the strife. Anyhow I survived in every way that a person could. You're a cool kid, Kevin. And I mean kid in the right way. I hope you make somebody jealous with that bicycle.

PS- I have to tell you this too. Back in the early '70's I gave my bike to a little kid on a street not too far from where my parents lived. Then I went into the army and so on and so forth until about 20 years had passed and I had a dream about that bike; that it was still at that house in the crawl space. I couldn't resist going to the house and telling the person who then lived there about my dream. She allowed me to look under there for it, but it was a dream that didn't come true. I'm kind of used to those at this point in my life, but I will not surrender. Don't you surrender either, Kevin. Ever.
