Wow! What's original there? Almost nothing, I think.
The frame.
Just like my truck... I make it drive able/ ride able.
I use my truck everyday, so I want it safer/ funner to drive/ faster.
My old Schwinn had horrible brakes, and I didn't like the color. This is now the 3rd paint job I've done on it. It's now the color of my Daytona I'm building... Citron Yella: Dodge. Curious Yellow: Plymouth.
My cousin spends big bucks on the latest/ greatest mountain bikes. He frequently upgrades them with the latest/ greatest parts. So I got a set of his older wheels. I got a Shimano disc brake set up and welded on some caliper mounts to my frame. Now I have awesome brakes. And a 21 speed gear set.
Oh... and a semi- big fat cruiser seat for my semi- fat big seat. AND carbon fiber handle bars!

Take my newly remodeled bike, that I bought in '81, out for a ride.
Yeah, it's old school... but I like it!
This is it's 4th reiteration.
Yup. I still have my 1976 Tangerine Univega in good condition. Once got pulled over for doing 37 in a 30mph zone. By an ice hole town cop. Back then there was no helmets only toe clips.

Wander through downtown Portland. Brief stop on a road trip. Went to Pete Townsend for a couple of days and need to be back to the SF Bay Area for the weekend.
For the lack of a "What did you do today" thread...
I descaled my DeLonghi espresso machine. A task I dislike doing to the point I'll go without it for a week or two. The first step (descaling) only takes maybe 5 minutes or so. But the next two steps (rinsing) takes 3 times longer because for some reason it will not squirt water as fast as when it's descaling. Have no idea why except that it knows the descaling was done and it needs a slower rinse?
Also replaced a double-switch in the bathroom (one for fan, one for light). Then came the testing and both switches would turn both the fan and light on. Ugh! So I did what I always do when things I fix don't work accordingly...i read the instructions. Turns out that one side of the apparatus had a removable tab that needed removing to operate the switches on separate circuits. Or something like that. Presto. All's fine.
I saw him, and while your support wouldn't hurt, he had it covered pretty well.
We didn't have time for Alabama Song (Whiskey Bar) so I didn't get to play my kazoo or slide whistle parts I came up with for that. Lotta fun! Maybe next time!
