I'm switching the 192k Octoshape feed to another encoder sometime this aft. That should fix the issue once & for all.

Now iTunes plays the AAC flavors so I listen to that because I was under the impression that the octoshape stream was being phased out. Anyway: I didn't have any of these issues with Octoshape. Solid all day long.

Waiting one day for ten reports wouldn't shorten the length of time the offending posts stay on the RAFT. I have seen the "Spambags on RP" topic work pretty well. As soon as Bill is on to them, they are gone in minutes.
A 30-day or even a 2-day lock preventing new users from starting new topics would do away with most of the current form of spammer.

Lazy8 wrote:Suggestion to deal with the recent spam infestations: code in some kind of check box on posts from new users labeled "report this as spam". This could go away after the newbie's 30th post or whatever. You could filter so that only actual logged-in users get their reports counted, but if a spammer collects say 10 reports in a day his/her/its account gets locked.
I know this could be abused, but if the "newbie box" goes away after some level of trust is established I think that addresses it.

I agree. Which makes the third such comment I've made here. Still wondering whether that design is yours, Bill, or provided/mandated by Amazon, since Apple's link is so much less obnoxious. . . .

Qctoshape has served me more than well since its inception, both in iTunes and FStream. As a matter of fact when other streams were down or not accessible Octo was ,with its wide and clear sound, flawless ! And it has been, until very lately !

But I kept getting b-b-b-b-b-uffering. Same with the 128 on VLC. So, I'm out of ideas, now. Frustrating.

Usually, 'Octo' is g-g-g-g-olden. N-n-n-ot at the moment.
