Kavalier & Clay was overall pretty great but when he does sex scenes they careen quickly to too graphic. IIRC. I stopped reading Telegraph Avenue when he was still introducing major characters more than a third of the way in. But a friend just told me to suck it up because he brings it all together and it's one of her favorite books, so I guess I need to give it another go.

I didn't read The Wonder Boys but watched the movie several times.

Why does this thread keep appearing atop the RAFT list with no listing of the last poster showing?

Chabon is the only author (so far) to win a Pulitzer and a Hugo or Nebula, (much less both.)

His literary skill is magical - and his vocabulary is GNORMOUS.

I highly recommend Chabon in general, and these books in particular (his short story collection "Werewolves In Their Youth", and "Gentlemen Of the Road", as well.

Well..... Apparently, the family are rolling out the brand, and $1k will get you Stan Ridgeway Jr., $750 for Stanalina Ridgeway; and a case of JD and a keg for any of the cousins.
