It's pretty weird to watch Dennis Weaver as Chester Goode, the first sidekick to Dillon. I keep seeing him as McCloud from the 70s series.

I'd take Festus over Chester.

It's not just the black widow that kills her mate, but almost ALL female arachnids view the usually smaller male as a dinner date.
Black widows get the rap because they are also poisonous to humans. But most gurl arachnids are like octopi: "read my mood, shithead."

I believe that in the very first episode (beginning with a series intro by John Wayne) Marshal Dillon gets shot twice in the torso by a casually murderous gunslinger and is unconscious for a considerable time. Dillon had watched the gunslinger kill a visiting Marshal for trying to place him under arrest and then Dillon tried the same thing and got two slugs for his troubles.

BUT a little over a week later a healthy Dillon challenges the gunslinger to ANOTHER shootout and justice fatally prevails this time. All the shootings took place within that one episode.

Eight shots in the left arm, six in the left shoulder, four in the left side, one in the left leg, five in the right arm, five in the right shoulder, six in the right side, three in the right chest, four in the right leg, three forehead grazes, five in the back and several creases.
The poor marshal was also knocked unconscious 29 times, stabbed three times and poisoned once.

Lionel is a boy's name of French and Greek origin, meaning “young lion” or “lion cub.” A small yet mighty being in their early years, baby Lionel will grow to be proud, fearless, and energetic, just like the wild creature from which they get their name.
