Yep, see also:

Texas v. Johnson, 491 U.S. 397, is a landmark decision by the Supreme Court of the United States in which the Court held, 5–4, that burning the Flag of the United States was protected speech under the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, as doing so counts as symbolic speech and political speech.

Of course precedent doesn't matter when it doesn't fit your agenda and you've already stated that you don't care about consistency.

Trump: "A lot of people are saying maybe we'd like a dictator."

The problem is, he's not wrong. A lot of conservatives nowadays are little more than perpetually angry reactionaries and they would absolutely love nothing more than a dictator — just so long as that tyrant oppresses all the people they hate.

The mortal insult of anyone they consider less-than getting ahead sends them into a rage, and with Trump they're finally going to get even for all those imagined slights.

You've heard me say it many times before: Republicans will squat in the dark of their bunkers and shit on their own shoes and call it freedom, just so long as no one else gets any light.

Just so you might not want to know, but the federal government can enforce federal law anywhere in the country and its possessions.  State governments cannot interfere with or prevent federal officers from enforcing federal laws.  States cannot be forced to cooperate with federal officers but they also cannot obstruct them in the execution of their duties regardless of the laws of a given state.

The Marines in L A were protecting federal property and agents.  They were not engaged in any law enforcement.  That does not mean that they cannot defend themselves if attacked, which they were repeatedly.

You better brush up on things because this is only the beginning.

Either that or accelerate your planned exit of the country while the getting is good. Better hurry up so the door doesn't hit you in the ass on your way out.  Ask Islander, he knows.  He's been warning of a Civil War for years now and is secretly hoping that it happens so he can say, I told you so ... safely from his foreign hiding place.

a) I'll simply let my entire unedited posting history here stand as a refutation to this statement.

b) you are a bootlicking twit, and still a bigot.

c) I'm amazed that you and your side can get so much of what you want and still be miserable.  Must be really hard to stay that mad. Sorry the world has hurt you so much.

You could type for months, and there is nothing you could say that would change the narrative.   Facts are only reliable in defense of his majesty... always to be ignored otherwise.   Corruption?  That was Hunter making $50k/month....not Trump making billions eliminating regulation, taxation, and ethics.

There is no more deep state.  To be part of the collusion and grift, all you need to do is learn the following phrase:  "Thank you for your leadership and...."   Even foreign heads of state now know that the resources of the US are at their disposal, all for the taking so long as they kiss the emperors ass.

and lastly, here you go, accusing your detractors of the very thing you are itching to do yourself. Neither Islander nor RedD have ever exhibited any sign of wanting a civil war, no matter where they are based. But you do. Your text positively oozes with pent-up aggression and hostility, "You better brush up on things because this is only the beginning"
The beginning of what?

I know one other country that makes a point of accusing its detractors of the very thing it is most guilty of itself. Russia. The whole Trump shtick is so infused with this poison it is hard to watch.

Before we get into the knee-jerk reaction typical of the lobotomised political classes, I'd love to hear from you an explanation of how this weaponization of government institutions and demonisation of any political opposition is going to be

a) good for you personally,
b) good for the country
c) good for the economy
d) good for the people on the other side of the fence from you politically

.. or is this all just about hate and retribution?

And I stick to my assertion, that Trump could not be doing a better job of ruining US power and influence abroad. The question of whether he is or is not Putin's asset is therefore entirely moot, though the only consistent feature of his political history is in fact, his allegiance to Russian interests:

He has destroyed US soft power (e.g. by closing down USAID)
He has undermined the trust on which NATO is founded and proclaimed a policy of isolationism
He has sent mixed signals to the supposed adversaries (e.g. China and North Korea) backtracking on threats, praising their leadership and dragging supposed allies through the dirt.
He has consistently supported Russia and undermined Ukraine's defence
He has introduced entirely self-destructive protectionist tariffs that have left the world economy reeling.
etc. etc.
All of which can be summed up as turning his back on the projection of American power abroad and opening the door to the "multipolar world" touted by Moscow and Beijing.

As for domestic policies:
He has actively tried to incite dissension and unrest
He has tolerated the theft of massive amounts of personal data by private companies with no accountability
He has ensured mass lay-offs of government servants leading to an irrevocable loss of experience and expertise
He has removed government oversight from critical areas of the economy
He has gutted government institutions
He has destroyed the unspoken rule of political independence from government institutions and filled them with Trump loyalists
He has gutted scientific research which is widely acknowledged as the reason for the US's technological edge globally
He has forced academia to follow the government line, thereby destroying the environment for free thought
He has ignored the results of free and fair elections
He has installed loyalists at the head of the military and deployed the military to urban centres.
He has stacked the Supreme Court
He has trod all over due process and set up detention camps and deployed mobs of armed men to project a message of massive overkill to the population.
He has overseen a massive shift in wealth away from 99% of the population towards the 1%
He has massively increased public debt in the process

.. do I need to go on?. What more evidence do you need?

You said you were against the deep state and corruption in government.
Yeah right, pull the other one.
