I'm waiting for the first "journalist" to ask a major Rethuclican spewing this "kids getting transed at school" bullshit to cite - in great detail - a single case of it actually occuring.

The whole ballott issue - asking your average uninformed voter to make decisions on taxes and other complex issue is not the way to govern. They even had one about simplifying the language to dumb it down.
Off topic from MAGA (which is becoming irrelevant, anyway) but I agree with that last sentence.
Iâm completely able to parse complex sentences. I love to listen/read Shakespeare. Iâve read Gravityâs Rainbow. But Iâll be damned if I can figure out what some of these ballot questions are about. And then I remember that the voter has to sort through these and give their opinion on a topic thatâs been camouflaged by lawyers and I despair.
Yes, yay for a democratic republic and all that, but damn.
Well thanks for answering. Since you support his preprimary positions then I have not much to say other than I disagree with most of his preprimary positions. He seems to be running against and disavowing his previously held positions in the general trying to appear moderate and mainstream. You think that he is refining and improving his positions. In those terms I believe he is running a bait and switch campaign, much like the current governor of Virginia did. And in the case of Texas, the same for Talarico. If elected, I am convinced they both will revert to their preprimary radical (to me) positions abandoning their general election positions. I'm not wild about Paxton, but in comparison to what Talarico is, to me Paxton is the lesser of two evils. El Sayed and Talarico are both DSA candidates. I firmly oppose the DSA and its positions. Based upon your remarks about your support of El Sayed's preprimary positions can I assume that you do support the DSA and its positions ?
Regarding the, "oh look, a squirrel" question about the GOP candidate for gov in Colorado from another here, he is looney toons. I do not know who is supporting him, but Trump and the GOP party are clearly not. Not on my radar at all as it is a local thing. El Sayed and Talarico are because they are both running for national office and can affect the overall US in general. Like you I cannot vote for either but because they are running for national positions, they do have my attention.
Evidently the support for the DSA is rather strong here, much stronger than I thought that might be the case. Explains a lot to me. It explains the widespread revulsion of Carville's remarks brought up elsewhere here earlier.
Fair enough. Do let me know if I misstated any of your positions regarding El Sayed and DSA. It is not my intention. Just trying to understand the thought processes going on here.
Talarico is not part of the DSA thing...and most democrats are a bit nervous about DSA (the party supported El Sayed's opponent), seeing how the teabag and maga movement has ruined the republican party.
Talarico probably would have made a decent republican 20 years ago...he's a good man, not into the culture wars (other than letting people live their own lives) compared to the scandal clad Paxton who you support.
The whole socialist fear mongering is so insincere. I personaly dont like the DSA label - put it in there with the whole defund the police label as bad marketing. The US has plenty of existing socialist programs, one of the biggest being the defense industry that maga apparently love so much (and of course, as others pointed to, trumps programs and initiatives to nationalize companies). I've been a supporter of universal healthcare (in many ways, we already have it leading to high medical bad debt expense which is absorbed through higher premiums) and gun control my whole life and never considered myself a "socialist".
Regarding CO, I live here and yes, probably a group of the worst republican candidates you might find...and it's a shame as we could use a few solid fiscally responsible republicans.

President Trump said at a rally in Kansas on Monday night that the Agriculture Department would provide $8 billion in economic aid to farmers hurt by high diesel prices.
It was the second time in two years that the president authorized billions of dollars in bailout money for farmers harmed by his administrationâs policies, and came 15 days before a midterm election in which unhappy farmers and ranchers could be the deciding votes in close races across the country.

I guess you could argue it's not socialism... if you want to agree it's a corrupt attempt to buy an election.
Not being a MI voter, I'm not the best person to ask....but,
like most politicians, except for many current republicans, he's refined and improved his positions.
But I agreed with what he said years ago too, like universal healthcare, rethinking the 2nd amendment, reallocating $ spent on police towards other social programs geared towards the root causes of crime...
The more important point though is to follow through with those positions once/if elected.

Ok. So which version of El Sayed do you believe in and support ? The preprimary DSA version or the general election version ? They are totally opposite of each other.

Sorry to be confused... but you want to hold candidates accountable now for statements they made during a campaign? Any of these from 2024 ring a bell?
"We're not cutting Medicaid, we're not cutting Medicare, and we're not cutting Social Security." "Before I even arrive at the Oval Office, shortly after I win the presidency, I will have the horrible war between Russia and Ukraine settled." "Energy is going to bring us back. That means we're going down and getting gasoline below $2 a gallon." "Reducing mortgage rates is a big factor. We're going to get them back down to, we think, 3 percent, maybe even lower than that..." "Starting on Day 1, we will end inflation and make America affordable again, to bring down the prices of all goods."
Talk about opposites. You must be so angry.
One my favorites:
âAt some point, I'm going to be so presidential that you people will be so bored.â

Then which one do YOU support? If they're opposites, one must be your dream candidate.
