If I play RP in Explorer it won't have a glitch when I reload a tab/page.If I'm listening in the Explorer browser and also use the Chrome browser it will hiccup when I reload in the Chrome browser. So I'm thinking it's Chrome? My download speeds are good and this is on a desktop with Ethernet cable, fast processor and 16G ram. Anyone else get this?
Not running anything like Photoshop or Lightroom, so not much load on the system.
Thanks!

The best way to listen to RP is to use VLC and your favorite stream. And VLC is available on Mac, Widows, and Linux.

Steps to re-sizing and posting this pic:

1. image icon, insert-edit image, paste image url, press insert button, press OK

(I'm sure you're familiar with all that)

2. to resize - still in edit mode, or re-enter the post in edit mode:

a) click once on the (overly large) image to highlight it
b) click the green image icon again
c) choose the tab labelled "Appearance"
d) click in the first pixel size box (width) and type in whatever number you wish to resize to - (510px max width was the previously recommended size here)
e) don't change anything else, as "Constrain Proportions" should already be checked
f) click Update button
g) click OK button to the msg box that asks "Are you sure ..."
h) click Submit to save and post the message/image.

thx i'll give that a shot

I've been experimenting with Google Apps' "Chrome Remote Desktop" because LogMeIn quit offering their freebie service. Logmein's interface was very kludgy after the latest update, so I thought I'd look around.

So, re: Chrome Remote Desktop: I think I've gone over this ground at RP before, but here it is again:
  1. Getting it installed is convoluted, but still better than LogMeIn, because Chrome specifies "do this, on X computer" and it's clear. The LogMeIn verbiage is muddy sometimes, to where you're not sure if host or client or whatever is the machine you're on or the one you're controlling.
  2. A few years ago, LogMeIn had growing pains, but solved them. Chrome has those same issues and I assume they'll get solved. Primarily,
Keyboard commands in Chrome will close your CRD window (Cmd-W) or exit full screen mode (ESC) rather than do whatever they would do in the app on the machine you're controlling. It's still exasperating but Chrome is working on a solution. Their temporary fix is listed under "known issues."
However you can override this default behavior by right-clicking the Chrome Remote Desktop icon in the Applications list and choosing "Open in Window". In this mode nearly all keyboard shortcuts will be sent to your remote computer.

Unfortunately, that option isn't in the list, and the other options don't do it.
  3. If your computer doesn't have a totally unique name (such as most of the machines here at work), it's hard to tell which is which. In playing with the app, I just logged in and controlled this computer. That I used to log in and control it. So you can get some weird recursive thing going. I thought I'd get sucked into a black hole so I got out right away.
  4. At some point, going full screen with Chrome on a mac, when I esc to normal, the menu bar and application dock don't come back. I have to quit and relaunch Chrome. So that's weird when jumping between Chrome and other stuff, I have to click on the desktop to see the app dock or the menubar, and if I go back to chrome those things disappear again.
  5. Bad Bug: I was futzing with it a lot last night, using my laptop to control this desktop machine. Now today, I got my work done but lots of weird stuff was going on and I rebooted a dozen times, rebooted the server, etc etc. and finally observed that my Mac Finder was crashing and relaunching quite often. I had thought other stuff was going on, but that's the primary problem. So far, the fix has been to get into my Google Drive settings (I know! I didn't even mention Google Drive until now and yet here we are!). If you go up to your menu bar, the Drive icon, pull down to preferences, select the Advanced tab, UNCHECK the box marked "Show file sync status icons and right click menu" ...not sure what that does, but it was making my Finder crash constantly. Like every 30 seconds.
...just posting in case someone googles this problem Mac Mavericks Finder Crash Repeatedly Contstantly Google Drive problem
