Canada won't take us :( My brother bought property in Canada just to start himself on the path to citizenship. It's very difficult to obtain there. He and his wife are both college professors. You have to have something to offer their country in order to be able to live there permanently. What a novel idea....lol
That is unfortunate because Canada allows in large numbers of unskilled immigrants through family reunification. Perhaps your brother and wife required a job offering from a recognized college or university?

Yeah, New Zealand has made it very difficult expensive to move there as well.
