I was fortunate to hear Ellington and his band live not long before he passed. End of an era, though there are still those carrying the big-band torch.

I will! I really like Joe Jackson. Thank You for the info!
What a wonderful version. I developed an odd obsession with Caravan since I first heard Johny Depp's version on the soundtrack of Chocolat. So many brilliant versions of this classic around!

Brings back wonderful memories of my Dad (and my mum). He loved jazz.

Sad as it may be, Jazz no longer has much of a following outside a few cultists. It was a product of its time, and though Jazz is a monument to those times, that time has slipped away.
I agree about the current limited appeal. How about a Jazz /Classic music channel! Also a lot of contemporary electric/ fusion jazz could be played!!

This was lovely. Any chance Bill, of adding a jazz mix?

"Now for something completely different," try Joe Jackson's version of Caravan on his 2012 tribute album "The Duke." Thanks, Bill and Rebecca, for all the terrific music!

The older I get the more I appreciate this
