And now I find that all creation is undone
I'm throwing out all of these thoughts that are not mine
I'm building up you're coming down i'm losing time
And now i've found some solid ground
I thought i'd drowned but now i'm found
And on the lips of life I kiss
I find I'm here this place of bliss
It's better now you'll find that life is on your side
And you know of glory days the vibe you cannot hide
I'm giving you the chance to make it all alright
Baby come on walk with me I know the futures bright
When you dream of themes that drive you to feel insincere
Think again you know that all those feelings are just fear
When you're trilled by ego hits you think you're on a high
You should know deep down inside it never satisfies
AAAAAAND this is why I listen to RP. Thanks Bill for opening my ears to so many artists.
As and older dude who came late to the syntax party these guys and this song knock my socks off . if it wasn't for RP I never would have heard them and so many others thanks
Same!!!!
and kinda Peter Murphy-ish too.
that's exactly what i think.
i found this to be a rather energizing and awakening kind of song.

love the song Pride, too. good stuff.
He did it again just now.
And again 10 months later
Interesting that an original copy of this song did not exist on YouTube until last month. According to Wikipedia, "As of 2020, Syntax had their music removed from all streaming platforms due to a trademark dispute with a US band of the same name. This has led to widespread copyright strikes by Douglas Martens against any artist using the noun “syntax” in their name. This issue has not been solved as of yet."
Sheesh...
It seems that suit may have been lost, seeing as a google search for Syntax brings up only this band in at least the first two pages. and lots of links to their music and videos...
Bill must have read your comment. He just followed this track with Icehouse... :)

older woman
I can relate. This came on RP while my music-savvy kids were listening in the background and they were, like, "Daaad!" And I'm like, "What? This is good." And they're like "But... Daaad!" It was like I was stealing their independence.
I love when they say it with more than one "a"

LOL - same reaction from my sons when, a number of years ago, I discovered Porcupine Tree and The Dandy Warhols on RP ;>)
ditto!
double ditto
Heard it here first, and immediately bought the CD. No regrets. None at all.
ditto!
This has that Icehouse - Iva Davies feel to it.
Ha, Bill must have seen your comment as the next song is, Icehouse!
Try to listen to WFMU, they play a lot of wonderful stuff too
Terry i have found myself listening more and more to stations like this and other free form stations

How many people would get the Adam's Family connection?
and kinda Peter Murphy-ish too.
Me too!
- yes ,gritty, so full of promise - better seen at festivals ;D
It's the voice
I don't know why, but when I read your comment, I immediately thought of INXS (maybe Full Moon, Dirty Hearts?) and started to hear the song as if it was being performed by Michael Hutchence and the boys from Down Under.
EDIT: I KNEW there was some Fluke in there!!
Yes! the album is a definite buy!

They store it right beside the 1950s cellphone toasters.

Edit: Love these lines:
And on the lips of life I kiss
I find I'm here this place of bliss

good idea, at least it wouldn't be so genaric with dingos
Love it. And the Peter Murphy echo ... yes indeed.
...which could explain the dark, deep sound which puts me in mind of Bauhaus...
Hey 1wolfy, How's it?
If you like it, I probably like it too. And that certaintly is the case with this song.
Please do upload more Syntax material for Bill's consideration.

Then have a listen to Fluke. You will not be disappointed :)
Fluke have done some great stuff - their remix of TalkTalk's "Natural History" was interesting. Their work with Bjork is superb.
I never remember who this is until the bass line kicks in. All good.
same here ! And while I'm here to comment, let's change the rating 8 -> 9 :)
I concur
