Through the room from the street
And finally to me
You ask me what I'm drinking
My friend Johnny
Tugging on my sleeve
Asks if I wanna leave
But what I'm really thinking is
Why can't it be easy
Easy
Why don't you leave
Leave me
Leave me be
I can see you swaying
I can't hear what you're saying
I'm sitting here stuck
And plastered to my seat
I think up a reason to leave
When you finally stop speaking
I'll take a long slow
Walk down Washington Street
Half asleep on my feet
Half aware if I'm dreaming
I'll go home alone
A sinking stone
A swithed off telephone
I'll go on and be free
A frozen breeze
A fallen down factory
But I still see you swaying
And I can't hear what you're saying
I just lost the plot
Got a little caught
In a little knot
I just hit a wall
Had a little fall
Felt the swinging wrecking ball
And why should that be
Why don't you tell me
Why don't you tell me
I'm sure you'll tell me
Why don't you tell me
I guess you'll tell me
Tell me
Have no idea why this is in the playlist. There's enough Norah Jones stuff in it where this meandering, hopelessly boring song could be skipped.. I've long passed out of the phase where I thought Norah Jones was hot looking and would give her a pass on everything on here...
Have no idea why you think your opinion about her looks would be of any interest of all for the rest of us.
And Bachman-Turner Overdrive. Don't forget them.
BTO!

Yeah well, she's equally unimpressed with your tiny "priest".
IMO the St. Bernard's smaller (relatively) cousin the Bernese Mountain dog is the most beautiful of all breeds.

Whatta' dink.
and I'd bet Sheff played the guitar
I believe it's actually Peter Atanasoff (of Tito & Tarantula). Both he and Norah have "electric guitar" credits on this track.
No, but you might throw Rush and The Tragically Hip in there for a good measure of Canadian treasures.
and Gordon Lightfoot and BTO, Feist, The Band, Shania Twain, Sarah McLachlin, K.D. Lang, Arcade Fire......etc

I freaking love this song.
but then again Canada sent the world Leonard Cohen, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Robbie Robertson. Need I list all the rest?

As a proud Canadian and a proponent of reconciliation, I would like to apologize on the behalf of all of us for showering the world with so much "Cavity-inducing pop".

Oops, sorry about that unintended slight, westslope; those were just two recording artists whose names came to mind. I did not select them because of their national origins - honest. I guess I could just have easily named Britney Spears, but her name comes up in these threads so often already.
We're all entitled to our opinions of course, but I believe your assessment is somewhat inaccurate. Her music is often quite complex - if you play a musical instrument you should hear that. "Cavity-inducing pop"? We're not talking about Nickelback or Justin Bieber here. I'm not a huge fan of Norah Jones, but just because she's enjoyed some success (on Blue Note Records - a label generally not known for pop music) and critical acclaim, does not make her music "cavity-inducing pop".

Still a strong 9 here.

Yep, still a 9 for me.
But this song seems to take that away a bit. It's seems like a great song... I'll give it a 7 for now. See if the feeling persists over the next plays, and maybe I will even raise it...
Then your ears lack something between them
Try a Yarmulke - they stay stuck like a sticky kipper.
Maybe if she tried some cheery tunes I would like her much better.
You really should give a listen to her work with "El Madmo." It's crazy, a little sloppy, and funny as hell. (I mean, how could you NOT love a song called "Rock Yer Balls Off"?)
Agreed. I've never liked her music - thin, no complexity, cavity-inducing pop. But this song has grabbed me. That's scary!

I wanna pet the dog. He looks like a happy puppy.

All rights reservedMost cool I think
I'm glad it's not his girlfriend/wife/bandmate/whatever on drums though

I agree, even though I don't dislike Norah Jones. I just always feel like there's something missing.

Um, most normal people listen with their ears. Why? Do you use some other orifice? How's that workin' out for ya?
I'm actually laughing. Rather good one Cynaera!
Nice rose...

She talks about how much she enjoys playing the guitar and facing the audience head-on, also about her writing processes.
I've tried to like Norah .. I also tried to like Brussell Sprouts.
... and in both cases, it depends on the seasoning used
Much better than your grandma's Norah Jones album from a couple of years ago. This one provides interest and lacks that annoying commercial aspect of her first album. I might even buy this one.
Word. Truly surprised by how much I'm enjoying this whole album.

I haven't heard the album.... but I LOVE that I get to hear tracks here that aren't played on the radio. NIce tune! Thanks!!
Good voice
Wait
Are you replying to yourself one minute after making a comment?
