You're a bird with an eye for anything shiny
Searching the land
For a hero of a man
You say I need
More than my fair share of attention
But I think you know
That just isn't so
Underneath
I felt the fire of a burning question
Tearing me apart
Right from the very start
And now I see
That it don't take a trick of the light to excite me
So strong, so long
You'll see
Hold on
To what you
Been given lately
Hold on
To what you
Know you got
Hold on
To what you
Been given lately
Hold on
Cause the world will turn if you're ready or not
Simplicity
A heart of gold, an old head, and young shoulders
Quiet and lovely
Becoming part of me
And now I see
From a handful of names and a thousand faces
One light, burning, furiously
I was tired of January
I was tired of June
I felt a change a-coming
Oh... I was tired of January
Tired of June
I felt a change a-coming, oh
I felt a change a-coming
I felt a change a-coming
Felt a change a-coming soon
Hold on (hold on)
To what you (to what you)
Been given lately (Been given lately)
Hold on (hold on)
To what you (to what you)
Know you got (know you got)
Hold on (hold on)
To what you (to what you)
Been given lately (been given lately)
Hold on
Cause the world will turn if you're ready or not

Bill, I truly wish the "10" could be phrased differently....as I'm sure you're aware, there is nothing Earthly that is God-like. Only God and Jesus Christ are God-like for, they ARE God!!
There's a billion Muslims that disagree.
There's a billion Asian Indians that disagree.
There's 1.5 billion Chinese that disagree.
There's millions of indigenous people that don't believe you.
Then there's the atheists and all the other beliefs.
Stop thinking that you have the only answer. Surprise, you don't. The arrogance of Western christians needs to be eliminated.

Your imaginary friend doesn't exist ... a single verifiable video would sort this out
Put up or shut up ...

You are right. Kate is not imaginary.
KT is on Facebook and I've been following her for a while. She is always up to something and posting interesting videos. She's very entertaining and funny. Quite a charming lady...
Very charming onstage too. Warm, friendly, funny, talented.

The word did give me pause when I first encountered it in this context, but there is the "in His image" thing. And, too, rock and roll has always been about bombast. I'm pretty sure I actually snorted when I read the back of the "Are You Experienced?" album sleeve. Then I listened to the record. The exception that proves my point.
That is a riot!
Is it just me, or does the guitar look too big on the album cover?
Agreed. Was curious enough to look it up a bit and came across the following from an interview in http://es.gibson.com/News-Life...
First off, what’s the deal with the Gibson Firebird on your album cover? It looks huge.
That's because it’s not a real guitar; it’s a prop. In my video for “Hold On,”
you can see me with an actual Firebird that's covered with mirrors; it
supposed to have sort of a mirror ball vibe. When we did the album
cover, a couple of props guys made me a mock version of a Firebird
covered with mirrors. They got the dimensions kind of wrong and it came
out much bigger than the real thing. I thought it looked great, though, a
little surreal, like an optical illusion. All the tuning pegs are
actually whiskey decanter tops, and the strings are necklaces and all
sorts of stuff, so it was a really amazing piece of work. It looks
great.
Prop guys messing up dimensions. "Eighteen inches, right here it specifies eighteen inches. I was given this napkin"
... btw you missed Eric Clapton off the list.
Fred, you are a source of delight to me. "...strong tasty women in kinky boots and wielding big instruments..." I just had the biggest laugh of my day - thank you! (I'm a sucker for literate, snarky men wielding big words.)
And I love KT Tunstall's music (although I do think her boots could have used four-inch stilletto heels.)
Cynaera is the gift that keeps on giving. I always enjoy finding her comments randomly distributed through the song comments on the RP website. I wonder where I'll stumble upon her next?
o.O

Beautiful. My new very long word of the day.
WTF are you on about.
You must have a hard life if this is really bothering you.
You do realize this is a music station, right? Lighten up and open your ears.

Ahh Anne your wit and wisdom is sorely missed
Same here, I'm going 6 to 7 on this cut today, might have something to do with the mental image of the awesome album cover pic....Long Live RP!!
Yeah....something's growing on me, too, about this artist!!

your bbc blocked the link to youtube at least here in the colonies.
Sorry, friend. Just bad sportsmanship, I'm afraid. It's dead for me too now.

You are correct. Wiki says: Scottish singer-songwriter and guitarist, KT Tunstall, commented in a 2008 interview that the cover photo of her studio album Drastic Fantastic (2007) is based on Quatro.

... OH, WHO AM I KIDDING. It's hardly ever out of the CD player! (For the uninitiated, go listen to her latest album Tiger Suit and her completely acoustic Scarlet Tulip EP, they're rather good indeed.)

Mind you, it's difficult to kick arse when you're tottering on stiletto heels, and KT is one kick-arse woman, right enough.
It's nice to see that kinky boots are coming back into fashion, at least this side of the Pond. Mrrrowwwl!
This is really a very fine album, with all bar (IMO) the last two songs easily as good as this. And I'm a sucker for strong tasty women in kinky boots and wielding big instruments :o). 9 from the smitten Nottingham jury

A year or so ago, KT performed live on the Bob and Tom radio show (which we no longer get, because the station's owner decided not to re-up the syndication subscription), and she was rather impressive. She had a device that enabled her to set a beat, do a looping vocal as backup, and sing along to herself. It was really neat. She performed "Hold On," but with a slower, more relaxed beat which, in my opinion, added a lot to the song. And, she's intelligent and hysterically funny. So "Meh" is far too dismissive. Couldn't you have written something a little more erudite, such as, "I find her music dreadfully boring and unimaginative, and I'd rather be jamming red-hot pokers into my eyes"?
Just sayin'.....
Saw KT live in a small club in NYC recently with just herself, guitars and her looping device — first show trying out some songs from her next record. She is is terrific showperson - engaging, funny as hell, good songwriter, player and excellent vocalist.
My wife and I will definitely be buying anything new she puts out and seeing her again anytime she comes to town.
