Locked inside your head
Do you realize the things you said never made sense?
We can sit here and laugh
But we don't know the half of it, in your defense
We've been talking a while
And it seems to me each time you smile, lights are coming on
But they don't burn too strong
And they won't stay for long, and then they're gone again

Funnyman, gotta plan, to be something wonderful
Funnyman, listening, to the world turn in on itself
Tuning in, to a brand new universe
Funnyman, could never be, anything, else

Do you remember the night
When I had to play your angel, saving your soul?
Even though you were holding on tight
Part of you was taken by your demons below
And with no more to lose
You said you feel like a bruise, on a beautiful body
And all the damage you do
Is so honest and true, I don't want to feel sorry for you

Funnyman, got a plan, to be something wonderful
Funnyman, listening, to the world turn in on itself
Tuning in, to a brand new universe
Funnyman, could never be, anything else

Conspicuously many artists from the island this day. Yes, I'm feeling sorry with them losing in winning the Euro '24, also!

She's also an amazing performer.  Check out her break through performance, after hitting brick walls in an industry that was telling her she was too old.  She got the call to appear and had just a few hours to catch a plane down to London, which, according to her, was perfect in retrospect.  She didn't have time to think too much or get too nervous.  I remember her speaking about not even having enough time to think about what to wear.

You can also see how the other musicians were spellbound as well (not sure how to include the link -- click below and that will hopefully take you there).

What an amazing performance from the Scottish lassie from the beautiful town of St. Andrews !!

she likes her guitars, kind of like good ole PJ Harvey

That's cool

What's with all the Ace Frehley/Kiss references with this cover?  Was she married to him or something?

These cover designs go through a rigorous approval process with dozens of people approving or adding their 2 cents worth and so someone somewhere said, "Hey I've good an idea, Let's get a camped up photo of K.T. and then find the awfulest typeface we can find or invent our own and slap it together so that it looks like someone's retarded niece laid it out and go with that, O.K.?" Good music, Bad graphics
This sounds like an educated assessment by typecast, but I would say it is not. Lets begin with the clothing / outfit. Very 80's - the pose reflects this. The typeface was clearly chosen to go with the photo content, and the theme is wrapped up tightly by the decidedly lo-fi 80's tone. This was all carefully done, and the only way someone's "retarded niece" could have pulled this off is by accident. Anyway. There is a science to this and I think some of the more subtle points are lost on people who look quickly and just do not notice.

thank you. As a designer myself, people often think it's as simple as slapping an image and type down (once in a while, it is) but there is a lot more going on when something gets designed before the approval process. Been at this for 30+ years and  I've seen plenty of designs done in Powerpoint, Word from non-designers that needed a TON of work to get something decent. Some of the non-designers find out then and there that it's tougher than it looks.

As for this cover,  I like it. it's tongue in cheek 80s metal/glam. Be curious to know how much of it was derived from KT herself. Did she come up with the title? Did the music inspire the design treatment? how much of this was to reset her image or in reaction to the prior album?

Saw her at Madison Square Garden a few years ago.  There were 5 or 6 bands that performed that night and the girls were raving about Michael Buble, but I only had eyes for KT.

I am digging this whole set:

KT Tunstall - Funnyman
Gnarls Barkley - Crazy
Supreme Beings of Leisure - Under The Gun
Dengue Fever - Uku

More, please. Happy Friday!
KT is really growing on me.

Ya know, I think I'd be up for either.

she has better songs, but i'm a big fan of hers. great songwriter, strong voice, easy on the ears and eyes. wish she would tour here...

Tomorrow night she'll be singing to this funny man live !   5/12/11   Wow, It was a great show.  One I won't soon forget.  She was captivating from start to finish..she even did a White Stripes cover using a kazoo that ROCKED.   By the way, her hair was lovely as well.

Aye, gallus like :o). Great song, great singer, great album, and a shame that she's become a bit too 'polished' with her newer CD. This is the best of her 3 albums, IMO - not a duff song on it, punchy instrumentals, bold strong vocals, and sheer oomph. 10 from the smitten Nottingham jury for the song, 9 for the album. And I just love a strong woman with a big instrument and kinky boots {#Hearteyes}

Hey, she can walk over me with those boots any time :o). I do like KT, perhaps the finest thing to come out of Fife since the coal mines shut down ;-).

I just saw her in concert.  The first half was very good.  The 2nd half was pop music and very loud; I left early to save my ears as I didn't care for the predicable music.

Yes, this rocks!

A bit of a change from Pink Floyd, but I can manage it.  hehe

Boots could have been better indeed, something like these for example.

KT Tunstall on going green Singer-songwriter KT Tunstall has become one of a growing number of performers who are making their concerts greener. klik the link above to watch a recent interview on Scottish Television about this ever pertinent issue. Good on ya KT!
Check out her duo with Keren Ann on My Sharona, on tv programme Taratata (youtube it). It rocked my socks.
I thought I would just cruise down to see how many people took out some very important time to respond to the Wisecrowe. Glad to see that RP and the vast majority of its listerners are hip and class-acts, unlike Dumbax! Crow. KT sounds pretty nice too! Um, how, exactly, do you know? Not, presumably, based on the cover art and badass boots, eh?
Wisecrowe wrote:
This chick sucks. Let's rate her low so she's stops getting play time.
Years of listening to RP have taught me that Bill plays what he wants, regardless of the rating that 200 people apply to it. This is a good thing, in my estimation. For reference, look up Shine On by James Blunt. I think it's rated in the mid 3's and 1 has a plurality of the vote, but it gets played from time to time.
