She's on the grounds, that's what they say
I heard the news only yesterday
She's on the prowl like a siamese cat
I hope I'm where it's at
She's got a lover
It's a guarantee
That her new lover
It ain't me
She's got a lover
That's what I'm told
She got a lover
I'm out in the cold

She's on the grounds, that's what they say
I heard the news only yesterday
She's on the prowl like a siamese cat
I must not be where it's at
She's got a lover
Puts her in a trance
She's got a lover
I ain't got a chance
She's got a lover
It's a guarantee
That her new lover
It ain't me
She's got a lover
That's what i'm told
She got a lover
I'm out in the cold

Had to check this out...saw that I'd already given it an 8, so I bumped it to a 9.  Foot tappin' good.

He lays down a groove, gets toes tapping, and then just effortlessly adds the right touch here and there to keep it interesting. I love J.J. Cale. His music makes me feel like I'm floating down a slow-moving stream on a big raft with a joint in my hand and nothing but time to spare...

Miss you so much, Cynaera...

amazing how many covers of various J.J. Cale songs were big hits...  he is the source of so much music, and this song is marvelous...

Nicely put!
Can't get enough of that guitar in JJ Cale's "New Lover"! Yow!
Had the pleasure if seeing him with full band and tom petty with band mates sittin in at a very very small venue, and all I can say is awesome.

Sounds like the same amp/effects that Mark Knopfler uses - I wish I knew what makes that kind of sound - aside from those magic fingers.

Strat through a Mesa Boogie. You'd have to fiddle with the Strat settings. Don't know if he needs or uses effects. Probably, but the Strat and Boogie are a good start.

Metallica guitar riff detected {#Silenced}
Real cool Bill!!!!
Great music today! Thank you Bill and Rebecca! {#Music}
JJ's pic looks like the classic all amurikin alky. But , Man can he pick! (that's t thing w so many of these sweetheart musicals : they're lost in t bottle or well , . . . ya know. gotta die of sumthin'. . . its just I like to go on PEACE. (Hey, Bilbo: he looks kinda like you. . . .)

Love the DUDE!!!

9

He an Eric did a fair one that has a cut or two to fly.
Oh, I am DIGGIN' this set...the opening of this is so fabulous.
cool tone ...

It's a pickin style, rather than a strumming style.  Mark is more prevalent... if you watch Mark, you can actually see him picking at the strings.

Love them both... super great artists in my book.

Really cool, snarling tone...
3 great songs in a row - non stop goosebumps. (SRV, Muddy Waters & JJ Cale)

Everybody, enjoy that Tulsa rythmn and soul
Play as much JJ Cale as you like, Bill.
I've just discovered J.J. Cale recently, thanks to RP and my local station (oddly enough). Please play more J.J. Cale! :)
I've noticed a lot more JJ Cale on RP lately. A very decent trend methinks.
