My little girl
Drive anywhere
Do what you want
I don't care

Tonight
I'm in the hands of fate
I hand myself
Over on a plate

Now

Oh little girl
There are times when I feel
I rather not be
The one behind the wheel

Come
Pull my strings
Watch me move
I do anything

Please

Sweet little girl
I prefer
You behind the wheel
And me the passenger

Drive
I'm yours to keep
Do what you want
I'm going cheap

Tonight

You're behind the wheel, tonight

Hallelujah!! Someone who knows NOT to put in that infuriating 'e' in aging - and paging, waging, staging etc etc.
Definitely not as good as original version...and one of their best tunes.

Can't wait to see these guys in concert soooooooon!!!!!!
Nice surprice... my youth... very 80's like beat.
Still like this although it's not really quality music in my opinion...

I was trying to figure out if that was the reason...for me it was an uncomfortable switch.

Haven't seen that movie in years and years and years. I should see if I can find it somewhere and watch it again.
Hmmm... It isn't a question of hate - but Depeche Mode? You can't do anything with them.

It really grinds the gears downshifting to Depeche Mode from Swell Season.

I thought black clothes and sun avoidance were required in all urban Oregon schools circa 1982. The Cure Protocol, I think it was called. Enforced until the Smells like Teen Spirit reform of '91

Edgar Froes of Tangerine Dream did an album using the dummy head thing in the 70s. More recently Eurythmics used something similar on 'I Love You Like a Ball and Chain' from 'Be Yourself Tonight' in the 80s and Bomb the Bass used Qsound, which was a digital version, on  'Winter in July' in the 90s.

This reminds me of the acronym KMFDM. Don't know if that was an urban legend or not but right now it sounds like a good idea.

Huh. I looooooved the spinning cap sound at the top of the song.  I used to play this one on the school sound gear, with about 50 feet of separation on the speakers, at high volume, just for that effect.

the band had a knack for hooks, no?

The intro with the plate or hub cap rolling around in my headphones in stereo really annoyed me really quickly, especially after the mellow song that it interrupted.

Like it by itself, love it remixed with their version of "Route 66"!
LOVE it, LOVE it, LOVE it -- first heard this back in the 90's when I lived in Seattle. I had to ask around to find a copy of this cut and an alternative record store on Broadway Ave on Capital Hill finally directed me to a compilation CD with a bunch of great alternative muzik by other artists. Oh, did I mention I LOVE this cut?

I think if you just peeled one layer of the onion off, you would know that your comment was out of line, and very incorrect. Why don't you read some of the lyrics and do it while YOU are NOT on heroin. I have never done it myself but I would guess that any music could be interpreted as ALL ABOUT HEROIN if you are high on it.

I love the haunting melodrama of his voice in this song.

This remix only gets a 6 from me, as well. The original would have been 7 or 8, as would the live version from 101.
I'm delighted that RP plays so much DM. This is a good song. Hold on: I think this is the Shep Pettibone remix, not the original off "Music for the Masses". I'll bring it down two notches to a 6 then.
Whoa, that rattling sound in the beginning of the song sounds really, really freaky with headphones on! 8O Still, I love this song, always did since the first time I heard it way back. Great video too. :)
