I can't take what's going on
With my friends and family
I can't take what's going on
Baby, with you and me

I'm sorry for the things I've done
I'm sorry for wanting to run
But Dear Lord when you did not come
My faith was gone

With this world gone to hell
And my freedom locked away in jail
Lord it's become so hard to tell
If you're there at all

I'm sorry for the things I've done
I'm sorry for wanting to run
But Dear Lord when you did not come
My faith was numb

Fail me, I don't need to shout
When I turn your water into wine
Fail me, I don't need to shout
When I turn your water into wine

Is there a chance to be redeemed?
Is there another night to dream?
Lord are you somewhere unseen
I believe you are

I'm sorry for the things I've done
I'm sorry for wanting to run
But Dear Lord when you did not come
My faith was born

Fail me, I don't need to shout
When I turn your water into wine
Fail me, I don't need to shout
When I turn your water into wine
Fail me, I don't need to shout
When I turn your water into wine
Fail me, I don't need to shout
When I turn your water into wine

And ya know who he looks like in that photo, don't cha?

And  the song...with its spiritual tone, and the harp playing?

Yes...that's right: Brother Bob.
Excellent!

Dylan stylings with talented vocals and killer bass singer. Nice!

I'm also hearing Steve Forbert in there.
Nevertheless, I absolutely adore this song and Joseph Arthur.  We saw him at the Soiled Dove Underground in Denver several years ago and he put on an amazing show.  For those of you who don't know, he uses he synthesizer and then creates paintings - mesorizing us with his wonderful music and visual arts creativity.  After the show was over he hung around and individually tried to thank each and everyone of us who attended.  What a great human!
This song seems to have a nice prayer- spiritual tone to it.

We all need more redemption.
Not really memorable but fun vibe.

I thought the very same thing, slowchair!

Is this Bob Dylan when he could sing?.....

It's better than that.
Bob Z chose his nasal whine/ Tom Waites chose his basal growl

BZ had the better lyrics, but I do prefer TW and  JA's renditions.
We all need redemption, now and then.

2nd JA song I've heard today and it's easy listening to him (not big on his art though  : P  he paints while performing I've read )
This is a very good album. But, it may be his only one.
Gets me everytime.... I think it's a young McMurtry. Too much religion for me, but very catchy hook.
Good song, but I hate it when I relate too well to this
I've wanted to know the name of this song for years..... no lie. Could never find it on the playlist in time. Thanks, Bill.
Sort of James MacMurtry sounding to me.
I rated it a 5 at some point. Hmm. Easily a 7. I always think it's Steve Forbert tho.
...never heard joseph arthur other than his contribution to and i'll scratch yours; totally different from this!..
Oldie/goodie - chair dancing!
Heard that whiny, out of tune harmonica, and thought it was Dylan.  Almost pulled a muscle running for the PSD button.  Glad I waited. Pretty good tune.
45 seconds into the first listen... Already like this one
This is a very good song from a very good album. Play more!
Better than his current, excessively talky offerings, methinks.
A good song in its own right, but also channeling Dylan, Josh Ritter and some southern gospel.
Nice.

Good stuff Arthur.  Is it true you're from Cleveland?

I think Akron.

Good stuff Arthur.  Is it true you're from Cleveland?

Wow, I actually found myself unconsciously snapping my fingers.

Good one.

No, it's when he couldn't play the harmonica. But that pretty much covers his entire life.
This is part of a very nice mix!! Thanks, Bill.

On my to buy list!!
catchy ..infectious...bring it on!
Recently it's "Honey and the Moon" that's been overplayed. This one is still fresh and crisp to my ear. Had a bit of a rest I see. Good plan.
OK song but already over-played. Not a comment I usually make about the RP playlist, but I hear this ong way too much on RP.
Really like this song... when I heard the intro (speakers down too low, I admit), I thought it was Dylan's "You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go"
I've enjoyed Joseph Arthur quite a bit on RP
This guy really grows on you...
Great lyrics. Great mix. Cool vocal.
This set was going so well....... then in walked THIS
This station is awesome----good job on a truly electic selection. You never hear this kinda stuff in Miami. Love it
I thought this was Bruce Cockburn until I looked it up..
Dylan stylings with talented vocals and killer bass singer. Nice!

Yeah, after a few listens I've bumped up my rating a whole 2 points.
I thought this might be John Prine. Never heard of Joseph Arthur until now, but I\'m impressed.

Good song, even though it took a few listens to get into it. The album is like that. But the genius behind \"Redemption\'s Son\" eventually hits you. And then you can\'t stop listening. Glad to hear rp has Joseph Arthur in its rotation.
Dear Lord, indeed. Bzzzzt.

Dig it! This is a toe-tapping song that manages to artfully pose some meaningful spiritual questions. It\'s great to hear Joseph Arthur on this station. Thanks for playing him.
