Pearl, listen to me now
I'm about to bring it down
Here are things I need to tell you
That can't wait
I've been doubting in my sleep
There are secrets I keep
Maybe in the end I'll find a way to stay
Pearl, it don't feel that way today
It wasn't long ago, I was down upon my knees
Begging you to change your mind again
You were tired of trying to love me
You had put yourself above me
Tried to leave but, Pearl, I don't let go
That is until tonight, now I know
There's a world outside our window
There's the mystery of desire
I could wait to make you happen
I could set this house on fire
Listen, now
I'm about to bring it down
Are we meant to be, I'll ask again
As I wait for your reply
Hear the traffic passing by
Tomorrow I'll be far away from here
Pearl, I'll be far away from here
Through the world outside my window
Though you're all that I desire
I couldn't make you happen
So I set this house on fire
I'm about to bring it down
Here are things I need to tell you
That can't wait
I've been doubting in my sleep
There are secrets I keep

Sounds like I'm very drunk and tired. And fed up. And my kebab is cold.

Well, that sucked the energy out of the room with brutal efficiency...

Way to bury the lede there, Lou!

So I set this house on fire

This man needs to learn about the breathing, and what's with the chicken noises?
Pearl dodged a bullet.
dont mind Lou Barlow.
preferable to the DMB in my opinion.

Imagine how awesome this would sound if Sharon Van Etten were singing!

Meh. That aimless noodling, poi-dog-pondering vibe. This band has some great tunes otherwise, though.
Edit four years later: Well I kinda like it now! Whoda thunk!

it IS awful!
The song is not awful, it deserves... let's say 3.
Ha! I just discovered the PSD button, just in time!

Me again,
Love the song.. but we should try and explore other options on that album.
How about trying "Brand New Skin "...

I'm with you man, I took a break from RP last month (listening to KFOG) because of this exact thing. This song was getting overplayed enough back then that I started reaching for the mute button. Just turned on RP 30 minutes ago and mute already??
I'll join the general consensus here...Not a bad tune but it's time to give it a rest RP..it's starting to get stale..

Great song . but it is getting a little overplayed. Why not try another selection RP?

unfortunately, I think I have to agree. One thing I hate about "regular" radio is that they *overplay* things... RP is quickly headed the same way with this one... Please make it stop!

If you like Folk Implosion, check out Lou Barlow\'s \"other band\" Sebadoh. The bio / background on AllMusicGuide is pretty interesting...
Smacks of Toad the Wet Sprocket. Pretty good. :)
This a PERFECT late PM tune...Thanks Bill!
I like this song more each time I hear it.
:)
I really like this song. I find myself popping up my RP screen to see who is playing when I hear this group. Nice sound. :)
good song, if i was trying to put myself to sleep.
I love this more every time I hear it. Thanks for another great find, RP.
excellent song!

Mel Bay, Book 2. Maybe 3. It bores me.

It is nice, and perfectly enyoyable to listen to, it's just generic. The melody, drumline, tempo and (dare I say) lyrics sound like off-the-shelf acoustic ballad. Pleasing, not earth-moving. Sometimes breaking the rules and sucking on cotton balls is cool.
pretty
Wow. This makes me throw up a little.
:) nice

The must-have album for Folk Implosion has got to be One Part Lullaby. Probably their best work. The new album isn't too bad either.
This song grows on me more and more with each listen. My ratings continue to go up. What a pleasure Radio Paradise is. Thank you.
