I know somebody and they cry for you
They lie awake at night and dream of you
I bet you never even know they do, but
Somebody's crying

I know somebody and they called your name
A million times and still you never came
They go on loving you just the same
I know that somebody's trying

So please return the love you took from me
Or please let me know if it can't be me
I know when somebody's lying
I know when somebody's lying

I know that somebody's lying
I know that somebody's lying

Give me a sign and let me know if we're through
If you don't love me like I love you
But if you cry at night the way I do
I'll know that somebody's lying

So please return the love you took from me
Or please let me know if it can't be me
I know when somebody's lying
I know when somebody's lying

I Agree!  GREAT TUNE!!   Thanx RP!
This song defines quality.
Saw him a year ago in concert in a small venue, may 900 seats, in skokie, Illinois.  Thought it would be just so-so, but no, what an act and musician!!!

Come on now....I direct this especially at the men reading this (and I mean no insult to the Ladies).  Come on now...you know Chris Isaak is the one you'll crank out thru your man caves home system whenever you have someone special coming into it for an evening of dinner and whatever.  Come on...you know it's true.  And I'm here to say it's okay.  The guy ain't bad in that regard.  Not bad t'all.  Heh!

Due in part to RP and his new record, Chris has quietly become one of favorite artists.

And there are worse places to be stuck than Roy.  The land yacht on the cover is a 70's beauty.

What a good point about how we remember things.  He is so nostalgic for that kind of beachboy music scene in this song that the video portrays them all at the beach having a hootenanny then crashing.  Most people do not realize how old Chris and is band are and how late to the game.  The girls in his videos are ten to 20 yrs younger than him! He can get away with that but most women can not. He talks about how this song reflects his real life experiences but I have come to suspect he was riding a wave or trend that focused on beautiful loners and losers.

Very underrated. Smooth, rich voice.
Stockton Boy does good.
CI's so talented and sincere, always singing knockout sweeties like this one!

Very Surprised this song didn't get the playtime it deserved!
Good song as a narrative of broken hearts. Altogether now...let's wail like Chris in the chorus. Love it!
The best from the best
Perfect song for foggy SF mornings... Just fits like one's skin... hard to separate the song from SF memories...
Great song by an excellent musician/vocalist. Both underrated.
As long as he stay away from the falsetto...hence only a #4 don't want this on my PSD.
One of Isaak's best!!!{#Clap}
Great song...love his sultry voice! Liz
Always thought this was a great song. Shoulda been a big hit, in my opinion. Great summer song.
