Sundown on the sorry day
By night lights, the children pray
I know you're probably getting ready for bed
Beautiful woman, get out of my head
I'm so tired of the same old crud
Sweet baby, I need fresh blood
Ho, ow
The moon shines in the autumn sky
Growing cold as the leaves all die
I'm more alone than I've ever been
Help me out of the shape I'm in
After the fires, before the flood
My sweet baby, I need fresh blood
Ho, howoo
Whatever trepidation you may feel
In your heart, you know it's not real
In a moment of clarity
Summon an act of charity
You've got to pull me out of this mud
Sweet baby, I need fresh blood
Ho, howooo
Ho, howooo
By night lights, the children pray
I know you're probably getting ready for bed
Beautiful woman, get out of my head
I'm so tired of the same old crud
Sweet baby, I need fresh blood
Ho, ow
The moon shines in the autumn sky
Growing cold as the leaves all die
I'm more alone than I've ever been

Whatever trepidation you may feel

Sweet baby, I need fresh blood
Ho, howooo
Ho, howooo

WOW! Indeed! What a tune!!!
I usually think that Eels should be jellied, but the howling in this song really gives me goose pimples. Arrrroooooo!
GREAT! I never heard of EELS prior to RP. Now I like several of their tunes! Thank You RP!
Whenever i hear this i go check on google if Robert Durst is finally in Jail.
And yet he is!!
And yet he is!!
Fun fact: E's father was the guy who came up with the Many Worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics.

Most of the nowdays bands are bad. This band isn't bad at all.
JINX!
Nice, very edgy, modern, but not fad-ish or poppy. I always buy this guy's albums since he is such an independent who does what he likes with no concern for record companies.
Wooh!
wow, what a good song!
Love the cubano cigarro album art!

I wasn't sure who this was. When I looked, it is The Eels. I'm not surprised. I like so much of their stuff even when I don't know it is their stuff.
NICE HALLOWEEN TUNE
that initial drum sounded to me like it had been sampled from "down under", the tone and metallic quality.
while writing this, it hasn't inspired me to say anything else except "Beautiful freak" album was a 9. I bought the plastic.
ahh, its over. hmmm, no, didn't lift me, grab me or even hold me.

well now. I wish I had been -there- instead of wherever it was that I was at the time.
Oh, yeah! This reminds me of when it came out...jamming to it on my iPod as I cruised the new and incredible Tokyo MidTown complex, gleaming towers of steel and glass right on the edge of Roppongi...where the hip met to trip and anything could happen...killer food, amazing bars, often with cigars, booze and views at the Ritz Carlton up on the 54th Floor, and fantastic non-stop club action all night long... Fresh Blood & PARTY was the mood and drove us all mad at the time...This still sounds rocking to me, and I love his new stuff too!

I could see that but I imagine the list of songs which would prevent vomiting if one were "inebriated...on the verge of passing out and feeling queasy" would be a shorter list.
This is one of those songs where, (with this playing in the background if one was a little too inebriated sitting on a sofa on the verge of passing out and feeling queazy) ...one would simply vomit.

Zombie movie soundtrack moment...
Our proverbial scared couple during the zombie apocalypse running down an abandoned urban street. Street lights flickering faintly, giving flashes of the shambling freaks on their slow pursuit...
I'd suggest a vampire movie, but that's too obvious. Only something lame like Twilight would be so blatant about it, not that anyone that would be involved with that crap would have good enough taste to have ever heard this song.

This is without a doubt the most overplayed song ever on RP! Come on...every day when I hear this song AGAIN, I feel like I'm listening to commercial radio.
RP is usually better than this!
Guh.......
Overplayed. It was good the first few times, but the daily recycle is wearing its uniqueness out.
The guitar riff always reminds me of a Los Lobos song off of Kiko. I'll have to think about which one it is.

I've been a huge fan of the Eels since their first album, and this song is SHOCKINGLY good. The beat is driving, the bridges are disarming, and the peaks are intense. I can't wait to hear the rest of the new album!
I will never be able to listen to the coyotes howling at night without thinking of this song ....

That song got canned in the LRC (Tiger in my tank). His dad came up with the theory of parallel universes. I have mentioned that before but it is just so outrageous I have to interject it again.
