If you have a Linux box (and if you don't, you should), you can use a simple bash script like this to automate the process:

streamripper https://206.71.145.10:8006 -a -A -d /path/to/some/directory -l 21600 -r

This checks for the existence of the directory /path/to/some/directory and - of it doesn't exist - records rp for six hours, creating the directory and saving the resulting file in it. When I'm ready for fresh music on my player, I copy the mp3 to it and delete the directory, so the next time the script runs it will record another six hours for me.

I use cron to run the script nightly. It only records if needed.

Update: if you really don't have a Linux box and don't want to be bothered to get one, VLC will record streams as well. There is a wizard in the File menu. Pretty straight-forward to set up. PM me if you have any questions and I'll try to help.

Again, this method just records blocks of RP, it doesn't break them up in to individual songs. If you want to do that, Streamripper is your best bet. But if you just want to "time shift" RP, to listen in the car or on your Walkman, VLC works great.
