Released: 2006
Length: 4:12
Plays (last 30 days): 3
The times we had
Oh, when the wind would blow with rain and snow
Were not all bad
We put our feet just where they had, had to go
Never to go

The shattered soul
Following close but nearly twice as slow
In my good times
There were always golden rocks to throw
At those who, those who admit defeat too late
Those were our times, those were our times

And I will love to see that day
That day is mine
When she will marry me outside with the willow trees
And play the songs we made
They made me so
And I would love to see that day
That day was mine

I know another song by this band but have no clue what it could be. Anyone know a popular song by them?

Reminds me of the sound of The Tragically Hip's Ahead by a Century.

Oh yes, Nantes is great. Lovely song. It's not being played on Radio Paradise? That doesn't seem right.

i  thought Rufus Wainright but someone mentioned  Muse and that's close...the lyrics improve the song

Thanks to RP I found Beirut and like them a lot.

yes it is annoying
Voice grates me a bit, but this is too catchy not to enjoy.
Slavjank Calexico!
Some David Byrne in the singer's voice.
Sounds like a cover of a Muse thingy, to my ears.  I like it, though...
First time hearing this tune.  I do not dislike it and look forward to giving it the opportunity to grow on me.
Bill has shown a penchant for tenaciously keeping songs in rotation that were not well received by the RP community. I hope this is one of those. Easy 9 for me.

Shocked to see how low the rating for this is here. Beautiful, nostalgic, bittersweet song.  I love it. One of the best singles of the 2000s, and basically a template for what would come in the 2010s, for better or worse. Vance Joy and the Lumineers, et al. owe a debt, but this, this is the real deal.

You're not alone!
P.S. Italian FIAT car on sleeve. Oh, no! It's soviet LADA ("Rus" at front number). FIAT was a prototype...
Yep
I am the first, really?
