As I awoke today I felt the sun
It had never shone before
The world had changed unrecognizably
Lost to a false reality for so long
Misguided thoughts on where to lay the blame
For such a tragedy, I recall
It made me come to realize
That the world hadn't changed at all
Forgive yourself
Forgive yourself
Forgive yourself
Forgive yourself
Appearances deluded me, like twisted imagery of a song
But nothing is so clear to me than all I thought I knew was wrong
It had never shone before
The world had changed unrecognizably
Lost to a false reality for so long
Misguided thoughts on where to lay the blame
For such a tragedy, I recall
It made me come to realize
That the world hadn't changed at all
Forgive yourself
Forgive yourself
Forgive yourself
Forgive yourself
Appearances deluded me, like twisted imagery of a song
But nothing is so clear to me than all I thought I knew was wrong

Reminds me of Porcupine Tree - in a good way!
What is with all the political posts? Listen to the damn music. Live a little.
Methinks that these lyrics are what Trump would like to be sung if he becomes president again.
They get extra points for 'vicissitude'. Such a euphonious word.
Soundtrack for that missing Trump tape.

Good Tune! I never heard of them before. Thanks RP!

Only my second "barfo". Not sure why this song is even a consideration. Fringe nothing band with sound effects. Did they get this melody from a Fisher-Price Rocktopus?

Looks like Seventeen - Ladytron
With this band being from Northampton, it's fair to say that they're a load of cobblers :o)
This is a very immersive song for me, and is certainly growing in my lugholes. 9 from the Nottingham jury.

I like this a lot!
Forgive yourself... for not being any more creative than this rip off of Ladytron's '17
People rating this song < 7 can't forgive themselves.

I likee lots... synth music can be so good for working too

I'm not sure if it's really "all the rage today"; recording artists have been making electronic music similar to this for over forty years.
Clipped, half-whispered vocals run through layers of filters and echoing old Snow Patrol.

LOL... Yes, I can totally hear it: Ladytron "Seventeen"

Glad there is a lyrics tab. I thought they were signing about "peculiar sand".

Would this make Nottingham the taint of England? Enquiring minds want to know.

They only want you when you're 17

Clipped, half-whispered vocals run through layers of filters and echoing are all the rage today and it just sounds like pretentious plastic. I do not get it.

Haha, first time a DJ ever prompted me to look up how to spell a word. Vicissitude!

This is the result of locking someone in a room with nothing but Ladytron albums. I'm not complaining.

Interesting lament. I don't mind the effect but in this case, the effects do not compensate for what strikes me as an uninteresting melody and a lack of direction.

I hear Alt J "Dissolve Me" in this song

I agree. I believe it's a track from Air that sounds very familiar. Its from their second or thirth album.
Isn't this a remake of an older electronic pop song? (But no, not kraftwerk) It sounds so very known/familiar to me!

Which reminds me of a Watford-Portsmouth match I attended many years ago. A Watford player committed a nasty foul, and the Pompey fans sung (presumably tongue in cheek): "You dirty Northern bastards!" Well, it made us 'Orns chuckle at the time, and the Pompey lot do have a rep for humour :o)
Apologies to those outwith the English football scene, for whom the above is as comprehensible as ancient Sanskrit. We now return you to your usual it sucks/rocks/blows commentary.

Northampton 'in the South of England'?
I've clearly been living on the south coast too long. I find myself thinking of Northampton as 'up north' nowadays!

Once again RP introduces me to a new song and new band. Many thanks, as ever. Going by the Wikipedia entry, this band hail from Northampton, in the South of England. Despite this, I'd not think of them as a load of cobblers ;-)

Apparently, this song is growing on me. Moved from 7 to 8.
Nice groove - I'll go with it!
I just don't hear Kraftwerk in this.

It's pretty much a direct rip of Ladytron's "Seventeen," layered a bit to give more texture and hide the Kraftwerk influence somewhat.
(Ladytron apparently feels no need to hide their Kraftwerk influence.)

It sort of reminds me of Kraftwerk's sound around the time of "Man-Machine" and "Computer World", not a specific song. It's probably just a similar-style keyboard sound or those four-note phrases and prolonged chords. This band is more up-tempo and "poppy-sounding" than Kraftwerk.

Backwards spam.
I like this. I'm not hearing the Kraftwerk connection. Perhaps a bit of a subdued, less depressing...Depeche Mode.
"They only want you when you're seventeen."
Agreed - "It will find you" being the standout track for me. Not sure this has moved on enough for me given that 6 or 7 years has passed I'll go with a 7 for now

Main Entry: vi·cis·si·tude Pronunciation: v-sis--t(y)üd, Function: noun : a surprising or irregular change - which is of course why we listen.
