Incongruent Dylan
I wish more bluegrass bands would try this genre hybrid.  Drums in a bluegrass band ain't the anti-christ.  And you can go with dobro...or a pedal...or even a slide guitar.

This rocks.

Interesting comparison. I wouldn't have thought that at first, but I agree with you. Especially in comparison to the latter Violent Femmes albums.

The first part of the verse sounds a little like a laidback version of Ballroom Blitz (same chords, similar melody). Are you ready, Steve?

I hear it!

Yee-haw, inflict me, baby!  Inflict away!

Indeed, gluttons for punishment that we are.  Long live RP.

Yeah, I kind of know what you mean. It's not that it's not good, or catchy even, it is.
But we've been so inundated lately with so much organic-locally-sourced-hand-crafted-artisinal music, it's all starting to sound cliched...even when it wasn't.

Sorta like beer?
Love love Every Heart Strange Days
hea-ah-ah-ah-rt?

yikes...
well this is fun!
The more I hear this, the more I like it! Thank You RP!
Great!! I never heard of them before. Thank You RP!
Don't feed the trolls
Rolls along like a Johnny Cash song. I really like it. Thank you RP.

I guess you mean live or recorded video? The track is available on youtube but with just the image of the album cover
First time I heard this - nothing original, but it's great!

You could always make dramatic exit if you don't like what's played?
This is why RP is the ONLY station I listen as I enjoy 99.9% of the tunes.
Groovy.

What?  Long Live RP and ALL THE MUSIC played here....!!

I'm pretty sure that Reed Foehl wrote and sang this song. Reed is in the rotation on RP singing solo on 'Goodbye World'...
Every time i hear this song I have to double check and see if its the Violent Femmes
quite refreshing!

I believe Led Zeppelin has played this tune much much earlier and much much better. Oh, and they called it Bron-y-aur stomp.

Ha! Jimmy Page was the worst plagiarist in Rock history. Countless examples. Original sources never credited.

Acoustic blues with slide guitar - hardly invented by Led Zeppelin; thousands of musicians have played this type of song long before LZ existed.
forces me to feel!

Feels forced to me and just off in some way that is difficult to define.
Made me jiggle and wiggle.  Gonna download some of their stuff
{#Bananajam}Twangy. I like it.
If home is where the heart is, where is a heart's home?  Do hearts have hearts?

I hear a bit of Gordon Gano in the vocals here.

Nice organic rock-a-billy sound.  Very homespun.

I'd say they're not even that. Likeable tune, though.

Bought the CD through Amazon on the strength of this tune. I'm sorry to say the rest of the album is a dissappointment. While this tune rocks, the remainder is filler at best. The tempo slows to a crawl, and could literally cure insomnia. IMHO, this group is a one hit wonder.

Toe tappin', chair dancin' good!

Been following this band for a few years, and always wondered why they didn't get more popular. Their whole catalog is great, and they put on a killer show. The first time I saw them, it was in an open ampitheater on the CU campus in Boulder. The cops pulled the plug on the show at 11, but no one wanted to leave, so they shut off all the amps, and took their acoustic guitars and one hand drum, sat on the front of the stage and played three more tunes, unamplified. The crowd gathered in as close as possible and got dead silent to hear them. It was one of the most amazing an intimate concert experiences I've had. btw-- if you are looking for CDs they brifetly changed their name to Fool's Progress, then changed it back.
Now that's a great moment. Can't beat it. I'll up my rating just for that reason alone.
frecking sweet! dance!. . . dance!. . . dance!
voice is cross between Dylan and Lou Reed
diggin this!
Oh wow, I first I thought this was The Tubes's "She's a Beauty"... But this is cool....
Aww yeah! I like it!

It would be 100% positive comments but for one dissent from Sweden. I do like this song.
YEEEE HAWWWWW!!!!! some foot stompin' action
Definitly an RP Classic. Should never be retired.
John Hiatt's stamp is all over this. Coincidence? Excellent and very catchy tune.
Lovin this one!!
Excellent tune! Like someone down further noted, perfect for dropping the top on the convertible, and hitting the road with the tunes blasting loud.
first time hear, luv it luv luv it, more of this please :nodhead:

Worth more frequent bandwidth, methinks.

Good Tune, let\'s hear more of this band.
Good stuff - as they say on Sports Center, \"As cool as the other side of the pillow.\"
It\'s got a bit of that mid sixties Dylan drive, which I love.
Over-played, it\'s definitively starting to get boring.
I\'m a lot more sure about it than you Carl - I like the rockin\'. Great lift-ya-up song.
