She is howling and vocalizing, not singing. In most of her songs, she is also screaming, not singing. Loud, high pitch screaming is considered "huge range". I am at a loss how and why this noise-making is considered singing.

Oh boy, this is going to cause a lot of controversy and upset the elitists. So Beyonce? It's an interesting, worthy RP addition on the first listen.
I genuinely don't know what to make of this. It's not awful, but for some reason it sounds inauthentic. I'll give it a few more listens before rating though.

Good on you for playing this here so soon after its release! I listened to the album last night. She's definitely pushing boundaries for herself and the genre. No wonder so many jerks are uncomfortable. But "country" music today is vapid and devoid of any soul, and it needs some new blood. Her rendition of "Jolene" is stunning as well; she isn't begging Jolene to leave her man alone, but warning her of the consequences if she doesn't.
