If you know that you fill my heart
If you know how you left our true love
I think about you always,
you are always in my thoughts
To me you look like a desert flower
that never fades
You've gone just as you found
my heart with a true love
You stole my heart
and left so much pain
for your love
If only you knew
where you left our true love

I love hearing all the African rock coming from Niger and Mali. If it weren’t for RP, I’d never know about it in the first place. Thanks, Bill & Rebecca!

I am reminded of the quote (John Cleese?) re what, in comparison to the United States, was so great about Great Britain?’ He replied: "First we speak English, second when we hold a world sporting championship we invite other countries to participate, and thirdly when we greet our head of state we only are required to go down on one knee." (from the Clinton era for the sake of youngsters!)
John Cleese has revealed himself to be a racist and classist. Terry Gilliam felt it necessary to comment, beseeching John not to ruin Monty Python's legacy. The comment which offended? "London is no longer an English city."
This oblique reference to the number of refugees absorbed by Great Britian was widely shared and a major driver of Brexit. I'm not saying he's not funny. Just his politics are colored by the success he enjoyed as the exalted status of cis-gendered heterosexual white man in the 20th century and beyond.

Can't you just change the 'mix' you're listening to or is that a task too far?
THAT my friend is exactly the difference between ignorance and peaceful tolerance. If you don't like something, don't listen to it, don't look at it, go elsewhere. It's not hard.
Exactly as LoudshirtsBand said, just change the bloody station.
My personal advice would be, try to see what the rest of the human species are doing, maybe you will learn something you like, you never know, it could change you life.
Greetings and all the best from the outer space :)

A bajillion years ago I would try to pick up shortwave radio stations from around the world, as that was the only way to hear music that hadn't charted in the US. We saw Bombino at the Forecastle Festival in Louisville in 2013 and he put on a great show. My kid was in the front row and spoke a little French with him. :)

"His name in Tifinag is...". If you can understand tifinag script, specifically rock carving script, you can readily read the Peterborough petrogyphs, the Kilmartin petroglyphs etc. -been there done both that. Great holidays. and hikes. Blue eyed arabs ( originally) descended from the Sea Peoples ( proto Nordic) brought this language to the maghreb after being defeated by Thutmoses III - and recorded in stone.

Every Bombino track gets straight 10 from me. So good and soothing with that 'organic' guitar sound.

Seriously?
How very PC of you to use that derogatory word and make such a gross assumption.
Typical.
Love TRUMPS - Hate, resorts to Ad Hominens.
Decent Tune.

I've bumped my 7 to an 8 already, and today went 8 to 9....bad ass guitar playing AND i'm starting to understand the lyrics a bit (i.e. the Arabic influences of this dialect shine through!) Long Live RP!!...and what's with the abrupt ending?
When I started listening to RP Bombino annoyed me greatly, but after some time I started enjoying it, not proving any points, just sharing my experience.
"Sittin in a hole my dear love, sittin in a hole my dear love, sittin in a hole my dear love..."
The guitar is amazing! Makes me want to do a folk dance of some sort. Another RP gem.

RP is on all day (10-12 hours in our house every day) Love the occasional world music (besides classical, movie, folk, reggae etc) tracks in the playlist. Makes it so enjoyably colourful, compelling and exciting. This what makes RP RP. Thanks guys!

I think I've heard this enough. PSD
"World music" like this puts me in a moral dilemma. I don't like it much, but I feel bad voting it down. Cause it might just be the cultural gap that's bugging me, not the music itself.
Feeling much better now after this confession. Now I can PSD.
