Listening to this brings back memories of the music of John Stewart. Why isn't this legendary American folk artist not represented on RP?

I rated this a perfect 10. This album is Jesse's finest work and 1 of the all time album greats.

If I hadn't looked at this page I would have sworn I was listening to Roy Orbison.
Jesse's appearance on Elvis Cosello's "Spectacle" TV show was extraordinary. He brought Neko Case (and many others) to tears with his rendition of "Sham-A-Ling-Dong-Ding".

I like it. Back in my younger days, we used to advertise our parties as "dangerous fun for all ages".
Another great singer songwriter who died too young. Lots of respect for Jesse, a Tennessean who dodged the draft & moved to Montreal as has been said...heard him in a tiny club there in the late 70s.

wow, two jesse winchester songs in one day (??). Is it his birthday or something. Whatever the reason it's nice to hear him.....RIP Mr. Winchester.
He was really big in Montreal in the early 70's, I think he moved there from the South to avoid the draft. I got to see him play live a couple of times and I haven't heard much from him since then, too bad.
