The story is different now, the records are playing in the living room
And you might say you're wounded, and I might say I'm hurt
But we knew the difference then between the fire and the earth
And we may say we're broken, we may say we're weak,
But we knew before we started, oh the secrets we would keep
And it's all okay, cause love will find a way to be what love is
And it's all okay, cause love will find a way to be what love is
I'll move to the country, and live inside the deepest, darkest wood
And I'll write you a letter and tell you all the things
I should say to your face
And I won't send it to you, I'll send it to your mother's place
And she won't give it to you, that's how brave I'll grow here in my cave
And it's all okay, cause love will find a way to be what love is
And it's all okay, cause love will find a way to be what love is
And you'll move to the city, marry a pretty girl
And she will make you smile all the while you'll be
Looking for what you left behind
And she will bring you children and oh how you will
Love them with that heart of yours
I won't visit you, I'll know by then the kinder thing to do
Oh it's all okay, cause love will find a way to be what love is
And it's all okay, cause love will find a way to be what love is
And it's all okay, cause love will find a way to be what love is

I like that one! Bittersweet...
Drum intro/pattern almost identical to Running Up That Hill...I was expecting a mix I never heard before. I like Stone's work with her brother better than this.

The more I hear it, the better it gets.
Yeah, her voice is different; I freakin' love the vibe of this song.

Too bad, not available in the German iTunes Store .... :-(
I had the sound turned way down and faintly overheard what I thought to be a Dolly Parton song on RP.

Perfect for my today. Something is off kilter; but as yet it is unnamed.
haunting, it draws me in.

Try to imaging she's on the telephone, with that voice...
This is good for my ears. Like the lyrics a lot. I don't know why it hasn't got a higher rating.

I like the song. Doesn't sound like a rip off to me.
Now, i like most of Melanies' music but not so much of Kate Bush if i'm honest.
What does it all mean?
buggered if i know mate!
and if you lot could stop slagging each other off & play nice for a bit, that'd be cool!

Yep, that's exactly what it reminded me of too. I can't figure out why the RP community fawns over Kate Bush but trashes this.
Maybe because Kate Bush has been around a lot longer. Most people (and many here, it seems) tend to prefer that which they are already familiar with. The comments may be pretty adverse towards this tune but the voting "score" isn't really trashing it.

Whether your comment qualifies for trolldom, I cannot say, but you seem to enjoy poking at others, don't you? You also are not all that good at actually reading what has been written, unless that is also the point.

Okay, leprechauns should have the right to make music but I don't have to like it. P. S. D.

So you're saying internet comments are self-absorbed? Gee, I hadn't noticed. Good luck tilting at that windmill.

I don't think that the negative comments are all that overwhelming. I rather like this and since the ratings are pretty high, you should ignore the trashy sorts and enjoy it. She does have a somewhat idiosyncratic singing style, but that's part of the charm. For all the complaining here about singing voices, generic and pleasant only goes so far. It's the distinctive ones that capture my attention.

I was curious so I checked it out. I agree it's a bit disturbing. Reminds me of a few stalker type girls I've dated.
Here's the video for anyone interested.

I was trying to wait until it was over, but just couldn't. Came close tho.
I like her voice, and the music; it's interesting. Reminds me of a Tift Merritt song I've also heard sometimes on RP that I like. Great tunes!
I love this song - a '9' from me.
Yikes... this is bad to the ears!
It's all ok a great song will find a way to be what a great song is.

Dave, did you ever see "Say Anything" with John Cusack and Ione Skye? There was a character played by Lili Taylor who obsessed over her ex-boyfriend. In one scene, she assures Cusack's character that she's over Joe...because she's written some songs about him.
65 songs.
A crappy recording of a funny scene: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jA0HcqhGkMc
I dated a woman very briefly in high school. I'm not even sure you could call it dating. She made a pass at me at the junior prom; I was mooning over someone else and jumped into it without thinking. She broke it off shortly after and quite abruptly, gave me the silent treatment during senior and told everyone in a small high school that I was "scary crazy."
Then she kept calling and hanging up. For years. Ten years after our graduation, I still had good reason to think that she was stalking me to some extent.
The funny thing was that I started mooning over this girl during my senior year after she'd dumped me and froze me out...until a good friend pushed me to call her up and ask why she was cold shouldering me. After she behaved like a jerk during the phone call, my friend convinced me that she was behaving badly and didn't deserve any more consideration from me. He was right and I stopped thinking about her entirely after that night.
But she sure was stuck on me...for some damned reason.

You wonder about obsessive types like this: do they snap out of it? Does someone stalk them and they don't like a taste of their own medicine? Do they get distracted by the mundane and stop circling around the unreachable object of their desire?
I've been around people like this most of my life. They're emotionally exhausting.

what are these singers going to do when the government puts Helium on restricted for official use as a strategic material?

I know this isn't necessarily the most pertinent point, but why call the album 'By the Horns' and not take the opportunity to put an amazing photo of a bull on the cover? I would and I don't even like cows that much. The image of her is nice enough but it's generic.
that's it....I'm off to the dentist.....have fun kids

I love it when Bill introduces an Oz track from "Osstraylia" and am charmed by the smooth drawl of Rebecca's "You're listening to Radio Pairadice" Cheers. Oh yes, Julia's a new one on me too. 'Nopaird' we say, in my village.
I love it. Powerful lyrics.
That was an absolutely epic cut! Julia Stone HAS IT!
a bit of an Adele spin 'someone like you' to this.
You really must give this one an opportunity, it is really a good song
It's one of those that I want to like, but can't quite get there, but don't want to dislike, either.
