I heard them calling in the distance,
So I packed my things and ran
Far away from all the trouble
I had caused with my two hands
Alone we traveled
Armed with nothing but a shadow
We fled far away

Hold your horses now
We sleep until the sun goes down
Through the woods we ran
Deep into the mountain sound

Some had scars, and some had scratches
It made me wonder about their past
And as I looked around, I began to notice
That we were nothing like the rest

Hold your horses now
We sleep until the sun goes down
Through the woods we ran
Deep into the mountain sound

Music just for me? Wohoo!

Good grief, what a hate train.  As far as I'm concerned it's a fun little song, I don't think everything on here needs to be Leonard Cohen.

I'd be perfectly happy never to hear Leonard Cohen again - he is definitely not my benchmark for excellence.
What is it about Iceland? So many good artists come from a country smaller than the county I live in. This band may not be the best on offer but this is a pretty good tune, furshur!

I know what you mean, there are times when i wish bill would go deep with a group, but that is me

4 years later and I still feel the same way, but now down to only 1 cat.

Except maybe the whole actual socially aware lyrics...

No!  And you take that back this instance!
Yet another example of millennial indie/folk rock...it's just so very lacking in anything except maybe a distinct lack of artistic value.  So very "look at us being all indie"...such a formula at this point its not very indie at all...
IDK, when that singer launches into "Hold your horses now!", I feel like the exact opposite.
Iceland has gone down hill musically since Bjork, and she was a mere foothill anyway

To which I say: bravo.  And that google translates ditto from English into Norwegian and Danish, too.

 First you kick your cat,
Then you kick my ass,
But i promise i'm not for nothing in this song...
Yet I love it !

I just like the happiness of their sound. Yes, Yes, I know. Not all their songs are happy, but I'll stay here with the smile on my face anyway!

Pop songs generally have a short shelf life. This stands up better than most.

Not getting better with age.
Not much to this tune but it is something peppy, something happy, something up-tempo and  snappy.
pep up song
This does have an everyday sing-along sound to it.

I like it.
This has that great sprawl 2 vibe from arcade fire
This guy sounds like Alvin's older baritone brother...
Driving with my pre teen kiddos in the huge expanse of the American southwest on our way to Havasu falls.  What could be better!  Great road trip memories.

Tired of this boring singalong.

This song sneaks in the "millennial whoop" - I knew I heard it and got confirmation here:

I didn't know that musical "pattern" had a name; you learn something every day.  It seems like a "sing-along" prompting tactic; good for outdoor festivals and arena-rock bands.

makes me want to jab pencils in my ears, good thing for the psd
Sounds like a Eurovision Song Contest entry - and that's not a good thing.
All their songs have the same singalong, a very boring and overrated band.
They performed this song in my neighborhood last April... really!
Our neighbor has a big "estate" home and he rents it out to big name anonymous organizations every year for The Coachella ... much to the annoyance of most of the neighbors.
He rented it out to Universal/ Republic Records and they brought in some of their artist that were performing each night.

Next year he said I could come over... his way of trying to make the neighbors happy.
Hey! I'm always happy!
I love it.
I like it

I like the cover art, I disappear, and leave no trail.
Hahaha yes!!

I want my royalty for this comment.
This is so mediocre, musically, it just gets worse on repeated listenings.  Don't they teach musicians how to develop a tune up there?  Geh!

Arcade Fire and Florence. All bombastic noisemakers.

You obviously do not commute.  I would say this band and the mumfords have gotten the most airplay the past three years

I commute and listen to the radio - I rarely listen to stations that play contemporary hits.
Whoever told this guy he should sing in a band should be kicked in the crotch.
this makes me yearn for morrissey.
This sounds like the bastard child of the Decemberists and Arcade Fire.
.{#Wave}.....there's a place for this kind of music here and there - now and then.....just to keep the balance and the wheels turning

Make it stop.

The reason I listen to NPR on my commute.  Most over the air station play shat repetitively.

/This song is ok, though their sound tends to get old fast.
ugh i hate this song, reminds me of the indie bands that do the target commercials, is this the same band?! annoying indie commercial sounding. maybe a kia ad?!
Decemberists --> Monsters and Men... What's next? Lumineers --> Mumford and Sons? : )
I would turn on mainstream radio if I wanted to hear this song. They play it every hour. Ugh...
Music for, and by, Ewoks.

Sounds like Florence of the Machines has been moonlighting.{#Angel}
Iceland's answer to Mumford & Sons?
Man these guys seemed to have ripped off Edward Sharp and the Magnetic Zero's..... still pretty good though
This is one of those songs that makes you smile inside even on the worst freakin' day.

Abba circa 2012
The guy singer reminds me of Passenger - Walk you home (Night vision binoculars).

Saw them on SNL last night and they were the first band in a long time on that show that I could listen to for more than 2 minutes.  Loved 'em!

Sorry Bill my first bad review. In my opinion this tune is way too poplike for me. I've spend loads of time in the mountains and this song reminds me more of sitting in city traffic.
Altogether now ...
"Hey"!
Very much a characteristic of these guys - big "Hey" shout in lots of their songs :)

like it, although I haven't heard a "Hey" in this song yet ... maybe it's the exception to the rule :)
See on hea.
I am heariing the beautiful south with this song
Looks like a different album cover.  I think their song Little Talks had to be the most played song of the last few years.  I heard it every day in the car, no matter what station I turned to.  Quite frankly, I don't see what all the fuss is about.
don't like a shouted chorus... nope don't like that at all.
This is what I call a happy song.

Happy is good.
Sounds like all of their other songs, which have gotten quite annoying.
I find this a bit eurosongfestivalcrappish

Nice to hear some other songs from these guys.

Sounds like a track from my grandmother's Sing Along With Mitch Miller LP.
Like the minor chords...sounds quite a bit like their big hit whatever the name is...
I think everybody is celebrating New Year somewhere, so they gave me the chance to post first on this song. Let's begin with a 7, Happy New Year From Tonga to Novosibirsk!
