Just tell me what you've got to say to me,
I've been waiting for so long to hear the truth,
It comes as no surprise at all you see,
So cut the crap and tell me that we're through.

Now I know your heart, I know your mind,
You don't even know you're being unkind,
So much for all your high brow Marxist ways,
Just use me up and then you walk away.
Boy, you can't play me that way.

Well I guess what you say is true,
I could never be the right kind of girl for you,
I could never be your woman.

I could never be your woman,
I could never be your woman,
I could never be your woman.

When I saw my best friend yesterday,
She said she never liked you from the start,
Well me, I wish that I could claim the same,
But you always knew you held my heart.

And you're such a charming, handsome man,
Now I think I finally understand,
Is it in your genes, I don't know,
But I'll soon find out, that's for sure,
Why did you play me this way?

Well I guess what you say is true,
I could never be the right kind of girl for you,
I could never be your woman.

I could never be your woman,
I could never be your woman,
I could never be your woman.

Well I guess what they say is true,
I could never spend my life with a man like you.
I could never be your woman.

I could never be your woman,
I could never be your woman,
I could never be your woman.

Huh? From the linked Wiki page :

"Jyoti Prakash Mishra (born 30 July 1966), better known by his stage name White Town"
This was on FM radio constantly back in early 1997.  I remember many mornings driving to work hearing this song.
Man, ain't heard this one in awhile.
I bought this album when it came out, I loved this song.

Love the ragtime Darth Vader March sample at the start! (And this was 97? Seemed earlier than that...)

Yes, I think that sample is from somewhere MUCH earlier. It evoked a memory from early childhood - watching a movie on monochrome TV about WWII ship convoys bringing supplies to the UK. The German U-boats would pick them off.  I guess it's from the 1950's, but I have no idea of the title.
On the top-ten list of annoying hooks.
Good song, good story as told in the video. And hats off (a bowler, maybe?) to the original My Woman by the wonderful Al Bowlly.
Great song, but I heard it on mainstream radio so many times that I find it completely boring now.
Sounds a lot like Gorillaz

I just can't stand the DaftPunk-style fake snare with the automated quantized groove that never changes and makes the song difficult to endure for 4 minutes without becoming a true annoyance. Very strange pick in RP's list...

What, you thought there wasn't any strange at RP?  Just wait until Bill plays a whole side of 'Thick as a Brick'.

changed my opinion of this song.
There should be a WBF rating button. Weird but fun.
club kid flashback!  {#Boohoo}  {#Bananasplit}
Anyone else buy this CD and find 2 copies inside the jewel case?

 Ahahahah!!! Epic {#Cheesygrin}
groovy
Sounds so much like Franz Ferdinand at times... I do dig that about it...
This is why I listen to Bill and RP.  The unexpected that fits so nicely with the flow of the music.

Pop - yes but it is one of those oddly pop songs.  I took to this song the first time I heard it.

This is from the Wiki about the lyrics

He says "When I wrote it, I was trying to write a pop song that had more than one perspective. Although it’s written in the first person the character behind that viewpoint isn’t necessarily what the casual listener would expect".

I don't know why I like this song so much and I don't really want know either!
This was such a pop-radio staple back in the day...Bill, I gotta say, I'm pretty impressed that you're playing it here....brings back a lot of memories.  Nothin' wrong with playing a pop song on RP, nothing, indeed.
"She" could never be my woman with a tenor voice, that's for sure.

Yeah -- and great description. Love this song. Who are these guys? Sounds like an anthem for the transgendered  masses.
LOVE THIS!

This isn't something I ever expected to hear on RP.
An awesome WHW!
This put a huge smile on my face :)
Had to do a double take on this and then turn up the volume.
Whoa, flashback!! Thanks RP, always loved this song :)
Brings back a lot of memories. Nice to see it made the playlist.
Whoa, I had forgotten about this song! Lovin' it thanks!!!
Good gods! The acme of make-a-hit-in-your-bedroom one hit wonders. I've got the single somewhere....{#Shifty}

...And I bet it was a Brit who uploaded this. No, wait, a euro-popster.
That made the generation X chill out after lots of grunge!
Love it!!

Man, I haven't heard this in so long!!!!
