Sun's fallen over
Wolves on the street
Wolves on the street
Roaming
Howling

Smoke in the distance
Strangers are calling
Paid for your time
Paid for your time, boy
Hold on
Hold on

He's not underground
He's not in the air
He's not in that book
You take everywhere
The Devil wears a suit
He lives in no town
He lives on no street
In your home, in your bed

Unto the bride, one
Unto the trooper
Where did you go?
Where have you been, son?
Nowhere
With no one

Talking in circles
Point of confusion
Who needs a hug?
Who needs a hug, then?
You do
You do

He's not underground
He's not in the air
He's not in that book
You take everywhere
The Devil wears a suit
He lives in no town
He lives on no street
In your home, in your home
In your bed

House of your friendly
Local accomplice
Shoes at the door
Shoes at the door, please
Mind your
Secrets

Out in the garden
Under the elk weed
Ribs in the dirt
Ribs in a dirt heap
Silence
Silence

He's not underground
He's not in the air
He's not in that book
You take everywhere
The Devil wears a suit
He lives in no town
He lives on no street
In your home, in your home
In your bed

The Devil wears a suit

Definitely a good Celtic flavour and with a good deal of originality, but I'm distracted by her breathing, which is odd for someone who's 'classically trained'.
The Devil wears a suit? And here I thought she wore Prada...
Beautiful song with images of the Emerald Isle☘️
There was a time in my twenties when I played quite a bit of old-time/Appalachia  and bluegrass with friends at home, in bars and in the Boston Subway stations with one particularly good friend and great fiddle player.  As I listened to this, the guitar picking somehow reminded me of that. After reading the comments (for better or worse) about the Irish influence, I did a quick bit of google research to confirm that there was indeed a large emigration from Ireland and Scotland to Appalachia in the late 1600's.  I'm now 67 years old but sometimes putting 2+2 together still puts a grin on my face even if  I am a bit late to the party.
living in a tale
Makes me dearly miss Meredith from Gladstone, OZ, surely the best all-night party drinking, dancing, and esperiencing Life partner ever!

Btw the rhythm backing to 'The Devil Wears A Suit' is clearly derived from a different side of the 'world'.
Finding that its of Australian origin makes perfect sense.

Maybe just Gaelic, as the Scots have this similar sound!
I'd prefer Old Nick over some of the Suits I've worked under, evil metal fitters that they are ;-\

Nice voice, Kate. Heartmelting 🥰

I originally learned about her from her famous facebook song performance.   Still relevant today as ever.

Bumped this up to 8 because i love aussie singers
The guitar line borrows from the Irish fiddle tune "Swallowtail Jig" at times. One of my favourite fiddle tunes to play on violin!
Yeah, well, she borrowed my favourite outfit and still hasn't returned it:

For a country that started out as a British penal colony, Australia has certainly blessed the world with a great many talented musical artists.  I'm waiting for Bill to toss Tash Sultana into the mix.  I think RP listeners would love her - very talented, and definitely not seeking to become a radio pop star.

Uggggg..... not enjoyable......
Bill Aussie artists all over the place today.  Well Done.

Ha Ha.  I feel exactly opposite of you.  My family roots are from Ireland, although more than 300 years prior.  Still...the sounds speak deeply too me.  Very ancient very deep sound...  Celtic music runs chills up my spine.  This is music I actually "feel" in my soul.

Good song, it requires specific mood, but it doesn't make it bad.
The epitome of "14-year-old girl's diary." And she's Australian, so I can't give her a pass for the lyrics.

Agree about the tea, well said. The song though did catch my attention in a good way.

Irish?  Sounds pretty folk English.  I guess some people in North America think anything from the Isles is Irish.

If by "the Isles" you mean to include that big isle in the south, down below that Asian archipelago... the one about the size of the USA.

Someone sort out the lyrics. Song's skirts the right side of annoying ...just. I think the falsetto gets to me aftera while
I love this song... to play it for some rotten, evil Evangelical would just make my day complete. Yes, it would.

That's not Irish or Irish influenced. Not even close.

And yet, sir, you offer this opinion on the comment page for Weatherwood's "Ice Fall": "There's only ONE Irish song. It goes: "Di-dee-di--dee-diddly-di."

There is a world of difference between "Di-de-di" and "Di-dee-di". For God's sake man, make up your mind.
Bit harsh? Personally I quite like this, including the diddly-di's {#Angel}

Hm.  I think I like this, but I'm not quite sure.  I agree with the person who brought up Loreena McKennit, and it's possible I may have overdosed on Celtic vibes.  But clearly, I looked up the song, so it must have an impact.  :)  Plus, splendid song title.
I first came across KMH here in brizvegas at the "Pig City" concert at UQ in 2006. I wasn't that pressed because she fronted a tribute to the Go-Betweens. I think that her original stuff was far better

If she keeps doing that with her voice,
it just might get stuck that way.
Special
Beautiful voice!

Nice folky voice. Interesting instrumentation. It's a grower.
I agree with the comments  about "not my cup of tea" vs "bad tea"

*goes off to make my cup of tea* ;)

I think I like it , however the production negates my hearing.....can not follow the lyrics....{#Dance} my bad

there's something about this song that really draws me in and the video is interesting ...The Night of the Living Dead.
Dark content, cool hybrid of styles... new fan here!
When you hear a song start and think I love this song and I'm so glad it came on I guess its 10 not 9.  Like it more each time.  I'd like to say it's cause I'm a lover not a hater but actually the truth is I'm a lover and a hater but struggle to find the middle ground.

Yeah, getting quite a bit of airplay, but I'm not complaining...yet! Still an 8 for me.
Thanks again RP for introducing to me yet another great new artist. CD purchased!
I am reminded of a Loreena McKennit that tries to be Tori Amos. Definitely two female artists with a large potential to annoy people.
I was hoping you'd play this today...I'm liking this song.  She strikes a chord with me

What I think you mean in your verb-free comment is that even one play would, for you, be overplayed. Why not just say that you don't like the song? That's usually what folk complaining about overplaying are griped about.

You're spot on. I despise this song, and everything else this artist does.

Reminds me of Paula Cole.
At first this seems frail and weak. Then the kick drums come in and the instrumentation starts to kick some butt. I like the contrast of voice and musical accompaniment. Nice tune.

This is a pretty cool piece of music. I confess to not grasping the negatives so abundant in the comments section. I also appreciate that interesting album art has not completely vanished along with the LP and then the CD.

Interesting, every time I hear this song I like it a little bit more.
This has an interesting Irish feel to it. I'm enjoying this record.
You can bet Mario (Prada) wore a suit, even if he didn't allow women to run things.
This is just horrible.  YUCK.
