This is our life
A mirror to admire
A movie on the silver screen
Kiss me for the credit roll
This is my face
A cheekbone to abseil
As I let you conquer me
Let the universe do its worst
Devil do your worst
Black star do your worst
Darling when the rain comes down on us
And we'll emerge gleaming
Like diamonds in a gutter full of stones
Making their way back to the sea
Let this old world do its worst
Devil do your worst
Hurricane do your worst
People have extraordinary
Capacity to care for many
You need never doubt it's love
A mirror to admire
A movie on the silver screen
Kiss me for the credit roll
This is my face
A cheekbone to abseil
As I let you conquer me
Let the universe do its worst
Devil do your worst
Black star do your worst

For us from Québec, there is a Harmonium sound in this.
I'm listening to this in Turin, Italy :)
The lyric "Hurricane do your worst" caught my attention. Especially since Dorian just destroyed the Bahamas. Hoping for a safe and speedy recovery to my neighbors to the east.

Do you mean double-tracking? If so, yes, he is. Common technique, especially for not-so-strong voices. Kurt Cobain and Elliot Smith used it a lot, as do The Shins, even Feddie Mercury wasn't averse.

Superb instrumention/production. They sound just like this live too - highly recommended if they visit your area. I've seen them twice now, and on both occasions, the quality of sound and performance was second-to-none. If you like their music, it's a wonderful experience.
always happy to hear this one come into the rotation
I always hear an Elliot Smith-like riff and chord progression in this one....
Is the vocalist from Silversun Pickups double timing?

Calico cats are almost always females because of that X chromosome, but you probably knew that.
Well, for my money, calico is a cloth, a cat colour and a butterfly.

A nice acoustic sound with very tactile lyrics. 7
I like this album, however, it's lacking some emotion that was on their previous albums. Their previous albums are great.

A calico's a girl, and a caliper's definitely something other. Uh...yeah.
Like the song, too!
Thought I'd commented on this, but apparently not. I like it. I like Turin Brakes (bicycle connotations notwithstanding, since i don't ride a bike and wouldn't know a caliper from a calico.)

really love these guys and this tune. Thanks RP for all your different sounds.

Great guitar & melody
Feel good riffs and harmonies... Sweet!
Just a nice funky little tune
Nice photo, nice song!

Hmm...I like this better than the earlier stuff I heard by Turin Brakes. This sounds very much like Remy Zero, to me.
A great art cover, but...the song is more or less a sad thing.

It's one hell of a photo, right enough - must have been taken by one of those nutcase 'storm chasers' who chase tornados. Me, I'd have been sh1tting bricks with that thing bearing down on me.
Nice number - 7 from the Nottingham jury.
woah - what a stunning cover design. Gorgeous photo, good layout, nice type.
