I've been waiting on the fault line
Living evil take me on
I'll be standing with my dying bed
If you care to come along

Racing with the rising tide to my father's door
Racing with the rising tide to my father's door

I've been lying in the bright light
See my shadow from below
Never wanted from another man
Never wanted for my own

Drowning in the rising tide at my father's door
Drowning in the rising tide at my father's door

Through a window to the last mile
My living picture on the wall
From the banks on the far side
See the lights come ashore

Racing from the rising tide to my father's door
Racing from the rising tide to my father's door
Racing with the rising tide to my father's door

If I were Emperor of the World, I'd make harmonicas illegal ( apart from a very few individuals such as Larry Adler and Mark Feltham).

... and Magic Dick, but he's dead.
hmmmm I really love this harmonica track...great song, too

crying won't do ya no good
Hmmm....a BRMC track that doesn't sound like it was recorded in a phone booth...nice.

Definitely! Damn Florida powers that be cancelled film industry incentives and the show went from 6 to 3 seasons so the ending came off as truncated.

Why isn't this a TV show theme? This should be a TV show theme.

Could not put my finger on it. But, I believe that you nailed it!
Definitely a Paul Rodgers vibe to it. (A very good thing IMO)
Had to stop what I was doing to appreciate that beautiful segue from "Let the Day Begin."
Well done Bill!!!!
From father to son singing about father.

Long live Michael.

You know it, Laz!  Every second is fantastic.  One question for you:  are the daily rates cheaper in the hotel room or the alien spacecraft?  Still, both gotta have more room than the elevator.  Glad you're still a happy dancing hippy!!

An under-appreciated band IMO. Really worth seeing live too.
400 miles on a m/cycle today and this track was on my playlist 4 times. Fortunately, it did not have the same effect on me that it did on Lazarus.

These lyrics are so tubular, er, circular, man.
Oh boy, watch out!  Standing on a fault line is a dangerous thing to do lately, so many earthquakes....
Recently been actively listening to their new disc. It's EXCELLENT. Perhaps their best overall since their debut. A must buy for any fan...IMHO.
Love harp in songs, gotta have it

brilliant...  absolutely brilliant...  love it...

Everybody in my church loves this song...

Yeah, this is a really profound and beautiful song...  this song will last forever...

Holy moly— this song is awesome!  Love it!

Used to listen to this album all the time and live they are fantastic. Be good follow this with some Dandy Warhols (or Brian Jonestown) as there is a connection.

Ohh, Tanya Donnelly just started that will do nicely, thanks Bill.

Suuuuch an underrated band. I wouldn't wish crushing fame on them, but I am always glad when I hear them out in the "mainstream" world. Love all their stuff.
The evolutions of sound from this group are just a good time to listen to. For added fun, the remixes many others have made are worth a listen as well.
Love it all {#Skull}
When i left for work this morning the last track i heard was black rebel motorcycle club and now its also the first tune when i have gotten home....not that i'm complaining in any way shape or form.
I'm so glad to hear this here! I just heard this on Guy Garvey's radio show on the BBC a few weeks ago. So unlike anything else I've heard by BRMC. I didn't know they could be so mellow and acoustic. I really like this tune. Glad to see it added to the RP rotation. :)
Every song is like a refreshing pallet cleanser after that Greg Brown song!
