long ride, that you are taking me on
a long strange ride
long ride, that you are taking me on
a long strange ride

keep sunrise, you can forget sunset
i want to see the sun in the middle of the sky
'cause the dawn and the dying light
have gathered too much meaning
and i want to feel numb

there must be something else
we haven't found on this long strange ride

long night and even longer day
i'm so sorry, i've been travelling blind
high time you rest your weary eyes
love, it's been a long strange ride

there must be something else
we haven't found on this long strange ride

warm and cosy but not corny-perfectly for me

Bumped fro 8 to 9.  Dang - this song just gets better with every listen. The vocals that intertwine and gather strength, each from the other, the comfortable groove they have, and the banjo and fiddle - so heartbreakingly beautiful. This might end up being a 10.  Love it. {#Meditate}{#Sunny}

How we miss your posts.  R.I.P. dear Ann. 😢
How does RP find songs that include the banjo and it does not annoy the crap out of me?  LOL
Guitar is reminiscent of that song from Lilo and Stitch - Hawaiian Rollercoaster Ride
This song is featured in my favorite Ski move: "Snow Falling on Sinners."  I adore it.

Album is quite good.
btw - a late thanks Yodester for your post - kazoo used to share these with me often. it was almost as good as finding his comments...
From my home city Adelaide Australia now i have been living in Canada for the past 8 years and haven't heard this band for that long we locals love this band ..Thank You RP
Gave it an 8 because they are from Australia
Painfully slow
I love that sparse banjo.

Tune is totally different, but the instrumentation and overall vibe are definitely in the same vein.

This sounds very much like The Wonder Stuff track on Never Loved Elvis. Can't remember the song title.
Hi there from South Africa, good song

So much amazing alt-country coming out of Oz! The Audreys from Adelaide... The Waifs from Albany... I really like all I've heard on RP
It's just a ride.
So beautiful. I have to learn to play this.
 I like near guesses.
I just upped my rating to godlike.

I bought their tee shirt. So everyone knows who I am.
Taasha likes my name too.
Dude, you get old fast. I love this tune.

Guys, relax!  Fred didn't go anywhere.

I mean, I'm sure he went some places, but he's still posting song comments! {#Chillpill}
Lovely way to ease into my Friday late afternoon. Thanks RP.  Have a great weekend.

Seems a great time, well an appropriate topic to share article, "What Turned Jaron Lanier Against the Web?" Bit long, some internet history vs humanity.  I appreciate the comments and take on lurking trolls. Very insightful perspective into how the internet and the anonymity it provides can bring out the dark side, 'the digital barbarism'.  I really enjoyed reading this article while my daughter's tonsils were getting yanked out, from dates you can tell it took, well stuck with me long enough to find it again.

Live n learn, but don't let the troll chase you away Fred!

We're all stuck with each other, I'm afraid—even the people who demand that other members be banned from RP boards. Frankly if owned this station I'd turf out everyone making such demands but there's something a little too recursive in that policy.

This song could possibly be the most dreariest song played on RP awfull
Instead of "there must be" x3...I was hearing "war nazi"....x3. I am embarrassed to admit that I add now to the misheard lyrics community.
I'd just like to say, despite the blathering idiocy to which I am complicit on this page...THIS SONG IS AWESOME!
Taasha Coates can sing to me anytime.
So annoying when the conversation has moved entirely away from the music.  Especially when it is as good as this.

The song that is not the petty conversation about whether peoples feelings have been hurt.  I consider posts here a lot like poetry - better out than in and its more cathartic i.e. I don't expect anyone else to take my opinion seriously.  For fucks sake I often don't.

Seconded, if it isn't too late...

Getting old - the song, not me!
This one can bring a lump to the throat indeed!  Perfectly, simply, gorgeously sung and arranged...haunting, emotional, and TRUE!
It's a good song, but I swear I know a song that uses the same exact riff (or whatchamacallit). I just can't remember the name and it's killing me.

Edit: Okay, it might be Given To Fly from Pearl Jam (especially the solo at the end), but I still remember as if it was an entire song built upon that melody. I'm still searching :(
like it,
Kean Out
Love it.
Simple, evocative, beautiful.

"There's got to be something else
we haven't found, on this long strange ride."  Fur sure.
I sure like this song.
Lovely mood setter.  Evocative and wistful but not sad.

Simply beautiful.  Nice harmonies and simple acoustic accompaniment.
