I dug up a diamond
Rare and fine
I dug up a diamond
In a deep dark mine
If only I could cling to
my beautiful find
I dug up a diamond
In a deep dark mine

My gem is special
Beyond all worth
As strong as any metal
Or stone in the earth
Sharp as any razor
Or blade you can buy
Bright as any laser
Or any star in the sky

Maybe once in a lifetime
You'll hold one in your hand
Once in a lifetime
In this land
Where the journey ends
In a worthless claim
Time and again
In the mining game

I dug up a diamond
Rare and fine
I dug up a diamond
In a deep dark mine
Down in the darkness
In the dirt and the grime
I dug up a diamond
In a deep dark mine

My guess is there are less wrinkles in the photo but she still looks good when you see shots taken during shows.  I am pretty sure they aren't shooped.

LOVELY!
Ironically, not a jem...bury this one back in the ground, please.
This country-music sided Knopfler of his later career, nothing to do with his greatness.

That's the truth
Absolutly love it and RP. I just heard about this station Monday and I am addicted. I can't stop listening.

Thank Goodness.  I had to enlighten a 60 + year old friend of mine who MK is just the other day.  And he likes Chet Atkins, too!  RP rules

Zzzzzzz.... {#Sleep}

With Mark's later music I find myself longing for his blistering Dire Straits licks, but not so with this album. What a stellar collaboration.
i've been sitting here singing adda guppa daah mon, adda guppa daah mon thinking it was a gibberish song
I wish the Allsion Krauss / Robert Plant effort had been as wonderful as this collaboration. Both CDs are good, but this one has more depth, or something....
A great album and one of my favorite songs from it.

Crater of Diamonds Crater of Diamonds State Park near Murfreesboro is where a 40.23-carat white diamond named the "Uncle Sam" was discovered in 1924, the largest diamond ever unearthed in the U. S. Since 1972, this diamond-producing site has been a state park where you can hunt for real diamonds and keep any you find! Over 20,000 diamonds have been found by lucky visitors since it became a park, the largest being a 16.37-carat white diamond found by a visitor from Amarillo, Texas.
Among the more enjoyable songs and albums over the last several years are those featuring Emmylou Harris adding her incomparable vocal talents to albums by great songwriters like Willie Nelson and Mark Knopfler. She adds that extra touch of class to almost any project she touches.
