Ice man, ice man, candy man, sandman
All the things I've wanted for, someone else took them
Lonely in a new shirt, lonely watching baseball
If I had to do it all again, I wouldn't

Throw it all away, throw it all away
I want a holiday, I want a holiday

Marigolds and tangerines, I have dreamed an empty dream
I am slow and you are too, someone tell me what to do
Lonely on a Wednesday, lonely on a Friday
If I had to do it all again, I wouldn't

Throw it all away, throw it all away
I want a holiday, I want a holiday

I'm tired of having no future
And I'm tired of pushing my luck
I'm tired of waiting for the endgame
Watching the stars turn black

Throw it all away, throw it all away
I want a holiday, I want a holiday

Black postcards? very Goth
Thought it was REM "Radio Song" for the first few measures.
A star song - voice just right .. sweeet
Not a big fan of this song, but I do like that line "If I had it to do over again, I wouldn't".

More Luna!  23 Minutes in Brussels has that same snazzy Guitar!

Thanks RP

cool Luna tune

his voice reminds me of Jorma

You might like the Heart Throbs too, but you won't hear it on RP.
Boring voice...no energy
First time to hear this band.  Like what I hear. Thanks, RP!

One of my favorite Luna tunes.  Most definitely a 9.

NICE. First time, RP. Thanks. Lovely evocative tune. Let's dance like soused and buzzed hipsters!
Love Luna, makes me want to hear some Nails, The The and Stan Ridgeway.
...i hear a bit of of hologram of baal in the ambience and guitar work...
Like it, and hearing 80s/90s indie band 'House of Love'

Funky drums, interesting guitar

actually the riff is identical to "radio song" from the same album ('out of time')

I have quite a few Luna CDs and have seen them several times (including at the legendary Maxwell's in Hoboken, NJ).

This is a sweet Luna track.  How about 24 hours in Brussels sometime too.

Dean and Britta don't do it for me, just a tad sleepy.

This is great, thanks Bill !

can we segue into Dean & Britta??? PLEEEEEZE?

I'm a designer, too, but this doesn't bother me at all. It's not as if they were sort of, kind of ripping off "Modern Times", they recreated the shot almost exactly, and anyone who knows music and recognizes the shot will instantly reference Dylan's album. This is obviously meant as an homage. I see no harm in that.

odd that.

Yes, Luna did use that image on an EP of their's, before Dylan released Modern Times.  Neither artist created the photo; it's a pretty well-known photograph which was taken in the late 1940's by Ted Croner

It's pretty good, I need to listen to some more from this band. Can't decide whether I like it or not.{#Think}

I don't think so, but it does sound a lot like the eels song that was... especially the guitar.
Sounds like the Soup Dragons. Kinda.

Dean and Britta would be nice also

I'll give it 5 just for the lighter on the cover ... now I'll listen to the track.

Oh hang on — 30 seconds in, I think I'll stick to 5!

Hmm. As a designer, this pisses me off to no end. Communication Arts Magazine has a section they call "Separated at Birth."It is used to humiliate design hacks that rip off other designers rather than solve their own design problem. This would qualify. Dylan's cover is the better of the two; much more interesting typographically, and the photo crop and tone creates more tension. And he's a much better artist musically...go figure.

Yes, but how about that Britta?
Outstanding jam!
There is an extended version of this song on the DVD "Tell Me Do You Miss Me" that absolutely rocks way past this one (and clocks in at 10 minutes)...for any of you who like Luna, the DVD is a must pickup.
PLEAASE, MAKE THIS EEEEEEND!!!!!
If you do not have breasts please do not lisp when you sing. Thank you.
Love the Shoegazing!
all of these negative comments about luna hurt me. they are my favorite band, hands down. i am sad every time i think i'll never hear them live again...
funny that andy would post that. driver8 wrote:

Mesmerizing live. ?? Is that why I almost fell asleep at their concert? The only reason I remember their show was that I couldn't believe I could be so bored at a live concert.
One of the coolest bands ever. Exceptional guitar playing. Mesmerizing live. fascinating lyrics. Lou Reed chose them to open for him - so if anyone who is trying to imply that the MAN who invented cool can't recognize talent, you'll have to step outside. (And close the door on your way out).

same, but I like the music enough to overlook it. I really wish they'd get a new singer. He adds nothing to the sound.
Random Luna Thoughts... Dean Wareham sings like Kermit The Frog. The musical style is Slowcore. The extended version of this on their DVD "Tell Me Do You Miss Me" is absolutely stellar. I, for one, am sad that Luna is no longer playing together anymore (broke up February 2005). Sigh.
I'm glad that it finally ended. Very annoying sound, imho.
Sort of like a mellow Stone Roses ala Love Spreads Lyrics?

Me too. And then I was disappointed... Edit: the song IS growing on me, though.

Very pleasant on a summer's evening, I say.
I could have sworn this was REM when it first came on.

Love the guitar rif -- would have rated it higher it would have been changed up just a bit throughout the song. Good tune.
Man! What a set! These last 3 -
... ...
Luna is always a nice treat!
Somebody recorded this off radio paradise (using something called quintessential). I am just listening to it now and WHAT A GREAT GREAT SONG THIS IS!!!
I like both guitar and voice. I'm rare (according to some previous comments)
Catchy!
I just loved Luna's album Pup Tent. I bought Days of Our Nights and Romantica and was just a little disappointed. These aren't bad albums but not in the same league as Pup Tent. Still, I quite like this song.
Not a big fan but really like the lyric, "..if I had to do it all again, I wouldn't..." Exactly.
I'm so Confused….. The song catches me, then irritates me, the catches me again.
Great song for a Friday afternoon. "I want a holiday", indeed!

Beautiful guitar work. My first taste of Luna - loved it.
Agreed. REMish in the ringing guitar behind the vocals, though the lead work is its own. Nice.
When did this album come out? Just curious because the cover art totally rips off Joe Strummer's Global A Go-Go.
this space intentionally left blank.
Yuck I'm starting to feel like a negative Nelly here ... I'm not feeling the 'liking it all" vibe, at all.
Beautiful guitar work. My first taste of Luna - loved it.
This is quite an engaging, interesting, and quite good song. Leaf13 wrote:

Your comment is indeed unorthodox, nevertheless I respect it because of your "credibility?"
The cadence of the lyrics in the verses reminds me of Pseudo Suicide by Oysterhead.
I find his voice really grating and irritating - and this coming from a fan of Morrissey and Radiohead.
R.E.M. riff...
All I can say is thank God this isn't Luna's dreadful cover of Donovan's "Season of the Witch". Blech.
it sounds like so many others, but much worse. :P
I kinda like the voice, but those guitars! Awwwwful!
I like it, but it mainly makes me want to go back to Tom Verlaine and Television for the real thing.
'bout time we heard some Luna. Check out the personnel.
"Radio (Paradise) Song"...
Dang, have these guys played their instruments before? I haven't heard such a terrible guitar solo since I listened to a tape of my old band.
Average, but decent sound

THERE'S SOMETHING CORNY ABOUT THIS SONG...
The guitar fuzz is cool on this song.
