Ay candela, candela, candela, me quemo aé.
Ay candela, candela, candela, me quemo aé.

bien placentero:
¡Y ahora si quieren bailar, búsquense
otro timbalero!

Ay candela, candela, candela, me quemó aé.

Oye, Faustino Orama' y sus compañeros,
necesito que me apaguen el fuego.
Margarita llama pronto a los bomberos para
que vengan a apagar el fuego.
Oye, si estás perdida llama a los siete ceros,
y asi vendrán más pronto los bomberos.
Ay candela, candela, candela, me quemo aé,
mama ¡Aaaay!

Tilán tilán
Didilán didilán
Margarita que me quemo
Yo quiero seguir gozando
La candelame está llevando
Me gusta seguir guarachando
me quemo, me quemo.
Mira que me quemo, oye, yo quiero
seguir guarachando.
Mira mama que yo vengo quemando.
Faustino Orama' tú está acabando
Mira se quema, se quema
Pero mira mi mami se quema
Oye se quema, se quema

The Musical produced by Atlantic Theater in NYC this year was
fantastic! I'm reasonably certain it will transfer to Broadway soon.
Seeing the music performed live was worth the ticket alone, but it's so
much more. I work in the theatre industry and this is a must see. It
closes at the end of January '24 and is totally sold out. but keep your
eyes open for the transfer.

up and dance!!
"The K.Y.!"

Well that's one way to write a song about making love.

If "nobody has anything" is non-materialistic, then yeah. Wonder why every Cuban (aside from those at the top) wants to get out of "paradise."

My 84 year old mom joined a dating site and complained that it kept matching her with "old men." She finally found a 50-year-old man, no thanks to the site. (She told him she's 64.)
Ahhh! BVSC thank you Ry Cooder for the discovery process
Just can’t get bored with it!
This is now officially in my best classics folder.

Need more cowbell!!
Every time I hear a track off this album I think to myself, "this is what music is all about."

It practically shimmers, but so much life and grit and texture and soul. So so good.
I'm telling you guys, you're gonna want that sound.
This is how you cowbell.

I love the line where they're driving around looking for where the club was, Compay in the back seat, and Compay, 80-some years old then, says "We need to find an old person, they'll remember. Where are the old people?" Never occurred to him that HE was an old person!

I was fortunate enough to see them on one of their first tours. Just incredible.

Makes me wish I was in Havana right now...
Sublime. Real escapism from a bleak UK.
A little bit of Cuba in the winter  :)
Sounds like a song dedicated to a vaginal lubricant
I can't put my finger on it, but there is something about this song that packs an amazing punch every. single. time.

Annoying :-(
What a great song! Those steamy nights in Cartagena, starting out somewhere along the malecon but always ending up partying all night at Cafe Havana... Such fun on my visits! 2010, again in '12... The mojitos, the Cohibas, the band members, the dancing, romancing my sweet little Yinna -- whoah, the memories ~ ay!

This is one of those bands that I guess everyone's just supposed to like, because whatever.  Bottom line though is that this music is repetitive and annoying.  A weak 3 from me
Grating, mind-numbing, repetitive schlock.

Do you know El Presidente’s only weakness? His penchant for a good, ripe cheese of course! While his exclusively imported French speciality cheese may bring some short lived satisfaction, El Presidente wants more! So he’s decided to open his very own artisan cheese factory in the first DLC pack for the hugely popular Tropico 5. ‘The Big Cheese’ DLC, available today, challenges players to create and promote an artisan cheese brand by introducing a new production chain with the Creamery: a new building that enables you to make the most of Tropico’s local goats and llamas. Face international competition in an epic quest to create the best cheese in the world and put on the chef’s hat! This add-on includes an all-new sandbox map and task, a standalone scenario including additional voiceovers, building, avatar accessory and music track! Please Note: people who pre-purchased Tropico 5 via Steam will receive ‘The Big Cheese’ DLC for free as part of the pre-purchase tier reward bonus. Tropico 5 Update 1.04 has also gone live today: adding save games to multiplayer so you can pause and carry on those extra-long political campaigns later. Check out the change log below for a full list of bug fixes, tweaks and additions. An absolute, no doubt, solid 10. This makes me happy.
A few years ago, sitting in a decrepit bar in Holguin, the bar band started into this and a man from the adjacent country gave them money to NOT play, whereupon our table had a whip round and paid them to PLAY it. He left and the party started.

Makes me want to dance . . . and I don't dance (so that's saying something).

Heard this many times on Radio Paradise and have always loved it.
