I once memorized all these lyrics on a dare. There are a lot. Upside was I could sing along with Bobby and Dead. But Marty is the best.
Wow, I'm so surprised to hear this song pop up on RP! My husband (who grew up listening to very different music from me, and still has very different musical tastes from me) knows this song by heart, and when I beg and plead enough he will sing it for me. 
As a Brit born at the turn of the millennium, I've never heard of Marty Robbins before - but this tune grabbed me in the first few seconds. Love discovering excellent old songs that are new to me 
One of my deceased father's favorites. Makes me feel warm and fuzzy.
