From my heart and from my hand,
Why don't people understand
My intentions?

(Weird science)
Plastic tubes and pots and pans
Bits and pieces and
Magic from the hand
We're making

(Weird science)
Things I've never seen before
Behind bolted doors
Talent and imagination

(Weird science)
Not what teacher said to do
Makin' dreams come true
Living tissue; warm flesh

(Weird science)
Plastic tubes and pots and pans
Bits and pieces
Bits and pieces

(Bits of)
My creation, is it real?
It's my creation—I do not know
No hesitation—no heart of gold
Just flesh and blood—I do not know

From my heart and from my hand,
Why don't people understand
My intentions, ooh, weird
Weird science!

(Weird science)
Magic and technology
Voodoo dolls and chants
Electricity
We're makin'

(Weird science)
Fantasy and microchips
Shooting from the hip
Something different
We're makin'

(Weird science)
Pictures from a magazine
Diagrams and charts
Mending broken hearts (and makin')

(Weird science)
Something like a recipe
Bits and pieces
Bits and pieces

Man, that song brings back good memories. Even though the movie sucked hard, I had huge a teen bo...ahem, CRUSH on Kelly
C'mon fellas, she was a Super Hottie!

Thumbs up if you agree! 👍

Listened as the album came out. All their albums. They were cutting edge from America then for us Huns.
When I saw them live on PHX state fair in 1991 I was surprised the audience were strictly highschool kids who sang along most ALL the lyrics having a real dead man's party..
A memorable band in many ways to me.

Initially found it's way to my ears through late nights' John Peel's Music .
Needs more 80s percussion.
It's funny to me how different the vibe is between Danny Elfman and the other people in the band photo. Oingo Boingo could well be named "Seven dudes and a psychopath."
Peter Gabriel meets Talking Heads
with a soupçon of Thomas Dolby

Would be an improvement tbh...

How bout a nice greasy pork sandwich served up in a dirty ashtray?
Rating it a 6 mainly for the nostalgia factor.

Very fun band - but this song is weak.

This version...agreed. Studio cut is much more fun/enjoyable.

I really miss Thomas Dolby's sound of the 80's.

Danny Elfman can sure write good party songs!
Love Danny Elfman..wish he were still rocking out rather than writing film scores.
Woah, the extended mix just keeps going and going. Or is the the proper mix and I've only ever heard radio edits? Either way, I love it!

I'm liking this song (please bring this emoticon back!) excellent tune indeed!!!
Ask and you shall recieve!
One of the most underrated 80's comedies.
Not a great song, but I loved the movie. This was my favorate part when I was considerably younger! "In the family jewels? In the family jewels, man. Broke my heart in two. She broke more than your heart."
What's next? "Jungle Love" by The Time and Morris Day?

Perhaps the song is a bit dated, but come on, Oingo Boingo makes us happy!
Exactly!
Dead Man's Party would have been a better choice for Halloween.
Well, since no one else quoteth: "How'd you like a nice greasy pork sandwich, served in a dirty ashtray?" Wonder if Bill Paxton listens?
Very fun band - but this song is weak.
Make it stop..... Oh well... Headed over to thecreamygoodness.com for a few minutes.
i don't know why, but this song always brings a smile to my face :D
The only time I want to hear this is when the movie is on. Sorry.
Perhaps the song is a bit dated, but come on, Oingo Boingo makes us happy!
your vcr should cover it -- for openers

Twin Peaks ?
Yeah, this song is terrible, but the transition from Dandy Warhol's "Science" to "Weird Science" was absolutely flawless. Go, Bill!
I've changed my mind. This song has got to be the worst song played on RP.
Wyatt, your kitchen is blue. . .
And right now, Bill has a bra strapped on his head.
I'm liking this song (please bring this emoticon back!) excellent tune indeed!!!
Was this the first Elman-movie connection?
Suddenly, I'm a teenager again. Oh how I wished I could make a love slave from a barbie doll...
Danny Elfman's career track is so evident here - a big 'ol theatrical production. Thanks, Bill.
Gosh, this song brings back memories. Too bad they're not good ones.
