Yeah it is George Harrison. I am going to be a bit controversial here... But the song is just a bunch of dire cliches stuck together with sticky tape. It's sucko-barfo at the best. Rubbish.

you must have a picture perfect life. How is that going for you?

Did I write that? (See below.) hehe

Still brainwashed here.  George evokes pleasant waves of nostalgia more so than any other Beatle for this aging cowboy.

I know most will like this a lot because it is Supreme George, but to me, this song is entirely forgetable, like recycled Grateful Dead.
Wow. Be careful. It is probably safer to criticize Israel's occupation policy than beat on George Harrison and the Grateful Dead. I admire your courage.

So Travelling Wilburys
I think you want this song to be something more than it is. Accept it simply as pop music. And has anyone ever done pop better than George Harrison over his career? Masterful. al9009 wrote:

excellent segue! and a sweet song

Finally, some good music by the boomer generation!
WTF? Pretty broad statement there; amigo. (just for that I ain't voting for you)

George Harrison! One of his best non-Beatles songs I've heard! Wow! Sounds so fresh. At first I thought it was a new artist!!

Can't help lovin that George! *S* Who are the other musicians on this track? Nice blend.
George: Slide and acoustic guitars, banjulele (a hybrid banjo/ukelele) Jeff Lynne: Bass, piano Dhani Harrison: Electric guitar Jim Keltner: Drums This is from the CD's booklet.
Finally, some good music by the boomer generation!

There's a GH tune on Willburys, I thought this was THAT. Something about a road, too.
"End of The Line" perhaps? Another classic!
Ahhhh...Breath of fresh air! WE LOVE YOU GEORGE!!
George who? Oh yes, that George - I thought it was the other one.

Obviously, your too busy floating down the river of DE-Nile! (your poetry doesn't jive either)

Simple yet profound. Like George was. RIP, GH.
It sometimes sounds like he's about to break into Tom Petty's "Apartment Song". It gets a somewhat hesitant 6 from me for now.

A lot of the sound is Jeff Lynne's production magic.
I love George's lyricism in his work. Just happy-g-lucky melodies.
This is the song of a happy man.

I love this song!! What I miss most about George is his optimism and spirituality. He rarely had a bad thing to say and when he did, it was right on target. The title song is one of those. Brainwashed is one of his best albums. Chairdancing is going on right now!! \:D/ Love the banjo on this.
A genius who is sorely missed. What a sweet soul to be missing from the earth.

Anyone else hearing a little Dead?
Completely hearing the Dead. Majorly in the guitar, and now that I listen more, the overall feel of the piece too. It kind of has that...unexplainable, jumpy rolling lilt to it.
Anyone else hearing a little Dead?
My first thought was, "Gee, that sounds like George." Guess I can't be wrong ALL the time. Damn, I miss him.

actually one of the better recent GH imo.....
Ditto. I'm not a major GH solo fan, so this is a treat. George is especially missed here in the UK.
If you don't know where your going...any road will take you there.
Strange thought as I listened to this: towards the end of his life, George sounded very much like Ronnie Lane. Well...just an obscure thought.
There's a GH tune on Willburys, I thought this was THAT. Something about a road, too.
I love this song. I've been using part of as my email sig for a few months now. I wish George had been more prolific over the last twenty years.
love this song....the lyrics lock in a 10 from me "there are no edges, there is no sides"...deep :-k
what an incredibly profound sentiment!
actually one of the better recent GH imo. Doesn't have the Lynn sound that I grown to dislike. RIP GH, you're missed. I think there is a video of GH doing a acoustic performance of this on mtv or vh1.... on a borrowed guitar if I recall
a very slow calipso beat. very nice to groove to.
