There are twelve hours
There's a day between us
And you called to say you're sorry in your own way

There are oceans and waves and wires between us
And you called to say you're getting older

And sometimes planes they smash up in the sky
And sometimes lonely hearts they just get lonelier

How did you survive all those fires and floods?
How did you survive your insufferable friends?
It was the plow that broke the western plains
And its just my heart gets rejected by my veins

And sometimes planes they smash up in the sky
And sometimes lonely hearts they just get lonelier
And lonelier
And lonelier
And lonelier
And lonelier
And lonelier
And lonelier
And lonelier

And sometimes planes they smash up in the sky
And sometimes lonely hearts they just get lonelier

Saw Jenny Lewis recently and she is fantastic.
love rilo kiley!!! this song gets better each time.
Not to be mistaken for Riley Keough.
Most excellently excellent, very original sound.
not so innocent

I did that as well for a while.  Of course there was also the super-fun part of cutting Rubylith® overlays and lining up registration marks for color jobs.  They are kind of fond memories though, hustling all over NY, sometimes working 10-hour days in two or three different shops. At least it usually paid pretty well as you said. Yeah, nice, dreamy tune too.

Or laying out printed circuit boards with tape on Mylar. Remember one time we needed to remake an old design and when we pulled the master out of the sleeve most of the tape had fallen off and was in the bottom of the sleeve.
Can stand my girl friend call my friends insufferable...
It is the mark for a power nobody should have on nobody.
Take me as i am, or let me there, but don't try to organize my life
Cheers Gentlemen!   neat tune  : )

sweet tune!

that technical illustration revives fond memories of a simple job drafting from blueprints, sharpening my pencil and using little elipse guides, once done they would be redrawn with ink pens on mylar, then photo'ed for printing, all while the conversation would be about those computers they're starting to develop that some day could do these things in minutes ...  : P   (paid pretty well anyway : )

Been there done that, too.  Drawing a nice uniform line with crisp end points was a satisfying skill.  That also was back in the day when I did Fortran programming with key punch cards.  Then into the personal computer age with an Apple II and a subsequent blast into the future with a 32 bit Mac and a 2400 baud modem..  I remember eventually getting a 20 Mbyte hard drive for it and thinking it would take my whole life to fill that up.  Times have changed.

Rilo Kiley didn't have anything to do with Camera Obscura, did she? Because this sounds like a close relative of some Obscura cuts I've heard. Obscura was from Scotland, I think. Rilo is from where?

Her voice sounds similar to those of the two women from Camera Obscura on this number, but not really very often otherwise.  This is Jenny Lewis singing, she's from the States.

One of my favorite bands! {#Jump}
Smith - Beatles - Rilo-who = speechless!

Today, this was preceded by 'And your bird can sing' by the Beatles. That *may* be because the guitar style has more than a passing resemblance to it? Or my imagination?

I think it may be your imagination.
We already have a Tonya Donelly, thank you.

No, thank goodness.

Arcade Fire is the counter effect of a good wine. With the time it gets worse.

What a groovy tune - and a cool name for an artist (or anybody).
Julianna Hatfield wants her song back ;)
If you think this is good (and it is), you'd love the Heart Throbs...

I'll dance to this...

Me, too - but I won't try to analyze it or criticize it, because it would only hurt my brain. Sometimes it's just better to dance.

Not an RK fan, but I do like this one.

Sounds like Tanya Donelly performing the vocal (not a bad thing).

Jenny Lewis a hack?  Sure you don't want to retract that, Doc?  Say a youthful foolish slip of the tongue?

I am too old to be called youthful, and I didn't say Lewis was the hack. What I did say is the sound rips off Throwing Muses (or Belly for that matter) and I have yet to hear anything original from this band.

Jenny Lewis just got in with a bar band.  She can do better.  It happens.  Maybe she'll grow into her talent and dump these losers.

Nah.  She sounds like Tanya Donelly from Belly.  Not a bad thing at all.

No kidding...this could have come directly from a Belly release.  Do these folks actually do anything that is not a mimic of an older band?

It's good and I like it, but this could easily be just a cover band.

8 for the tune, 3 for the players.

how could you think that? jenny lewis knows how to carry a note versus bjork who doesn't understand the word tone.
what a voice{#Music}
Well done!

to be honest, i am normally biased against any rock group a female lead vocal - no reason, and i know it's not fair, i just don't tend to like them - but i like this. first listen = 7 from me. may go up i heard it again.

You know,I have sat in seats that look just like those on the CD cover...How bizarre...
(click here) Heard/saw them open for Coldplay...good set.

Sorry if this is an obvious comment, but yes, this song is evocative of the Throwing Muses, Donnelly, et al. I like it.

I need to upload some Rilo Kiley from her second album. IMO, that's the best one, and RP doesn't have any of the tracks.

Reminds me of Rilo Kiley! The rest of the CD is a little uneven, but I'd say that it's 60% earworthy. A band worth supporting.
Nope, reminds me of Edie Brickell. Too bad the rest of the album is mostly lame.

Not bad, first time I've heard her. :nodhead:

Very cool, and fun - I like it!
ooohhh, i like this!!
Very nice! More please!! :nodhead:
i like this, thank you. it kinda reminds me of some \"lush\" songs.

I think that's a little over dramatic. While not the best song ever, I like her voice. It caught my attention enough to click over and see who it was.
Very good...like their sound. Please play more! :)
whiny sounding
great tune, very catchy rhythm guitar
this sounds very 1992 (or so). not bad.
Went ahead and bought a copy of \"The Execution of All Things\" and I\'m now a total fanuloid. Hope they can make it to Shanghai one day soon - They\'d blow lots of minds here I think. These people totally ooze \'New American Rock\'.
Well this really rocks in a really fun way! Gonna have to pay more attention to the lyrics given other comments on them, but I definately love the sound these guys make!
emma jean\'s comments are exactly what i wanted to say! it\'s uncanny how she seemed to read my mind! jenny and blake have amazing songwriting talent and each band member is an incredible musician... they are truly a pleasure to not only listen to, but to watch.
I\'m with emmajean. Truly talented and I bet their gonna break big in the near future - unless of course the planet is wiped out by an asteroid, or there\'s maybe a plague or a big tidal wave or a nuclear war... er sumpthin.. Anyway - what a cool new sound!
