He swivels his head
Tears his eyes from the screen
As his past puts him back in Atlantic City
There's not even a demon in Heaven or Hell
Is it all just human disguise
As I walk down the aisle
And I'm gone gone gone
Now I'm older than movies
Let me dance away
Now I'm wiser than dreams
Let me fly fly fly
While I'm touching tomorrow
And I know who's there
When silhouettes fall
And I'm gone
Like I'm dancing on angels
And I'm gone through a crack in the past
Like a dead man walking
Like a dead man walking
Two young? men dancing under the lamplight
Shaking their sex and their bones
And the boys that we were
An alien nation in therapy
Sliding naked and new
Like a bad tempered child
On a rain slicked street
And I'm gone gone gone
And I'm older than movies
Oh let me dance dance dance
Now I'm wiser than dreams
Let me fly fly fly
While I'm touching tomorrow
And I know who's there
When silhouettes fall
And I'm gone
And I'm gone, like I'm dancing on angels
And I'm gone, through the crack in the past
Like a dead man walking
Like a dead man walking
Like a dead man
Like a dead man walking
And I'm gone gone gone
Let me dance dance dance

Not my cup of Bowie, too much caffeine
Earth to Major Tom: orbit decaying. Eject!
My listening experience would be greatly enhanced if I had Bowies jacket from the album cover to dance around in while I cranked the volume to 11.

This one's definitely...less pleasant. His stuff from "Heathen" is much better. Still a new sound, but a lot less plain-ole noise. Much improved over this.
I'm so with you on that. It gives me hope for the future. As for this album, "I'm afraid of Americans" is really the only one I can stand. Sigh.

I did, however, rate it a 4.
I'm sorry, but I just don't have a real problem with this song. Sure, it's not up to Bowie's usually high standards, but I just don't think it's "awful".
Let's bury the dead man !! Stop it

Warnings that awful songs last forever are greatly appreciated. There's less need to watch the Now Playing window to see when to unclick the "mute" button. Sad to say, but this song tempts the listening to call it, "Dead Man Singing."
I honestly belive it would be to the benefit of this station, to never play this song again.
Argh! What a terrible song!

"Last played: never".
Oh, those were the days....
ugh... what an awful song to follow after "Love Lies Bleeding"... totally destroyed the mood. This is one you can drop from the rotation.
How the mighty have fallen (or had fallen by 1997). This is just bad.
Had to turn the volume down twice ---> from "9" to "5", and then "5" to "2". And then it went on and on. And on. Had to reopen the comments window just to post this, right after dropping the rating from Ho-Hum to Marginal.
And did I mention that this is just bad? Oh David, David, David. Dave....
:(
please, play this song
"Last played: never". Why ??
