Great music. I wonder when Bill will create a Jazz music station.

I Agree completely!  I also gave it a TEN!  Thanx RP!

This is beautiful...
Is there more left of Marc Moulin?
Like to Hear.

This is REALLY good!  Should be more of this on RP!

I Agree!!  RP has only 2 tunes by him on the playlist. PLEASE ADD MORE TUNES!  Thank You!
Is this cut off "Top Secret" being played due to Dear Leader's most recent picadillo?

Jumped on here to rate this an 8 for the first time and discovered that I had already rated it at 7.  Bumped it to 9.

Great drumming doesn’t draw attention to itself but adds so much texture.

Loving this and how it unfolds...
Take a seat, son!
The epitome of COOL: gorgeous, mesmerising groove.
This is why RP plays in our house.  Love it and never heard of him.
Good stuff to work by. Keep 'em coming, Bill!

GREAT track, never heard of him before.  But can't find it on either Tidal or Spotify - argh?!
This is a real earworm. Love it. Very old school jazz.

Caught my attention right away also. This is soooo good.

The link you provided only shows that Bjork's song samples from that song by The Ray Brown Orchestra, it has nothing to do with this recording.  The bass in this song (though similar sounding) is not "lifted from that track and looped" - "literally" or figuratively.  The bass line being played in this song has fewer and different notes and the tempo is entirely different.
Super boring.
I think Bill sometimes selects songs to play based solely on the weird album cover art.
Ooohh so wicked Decoy!!!    {#Clap}  cool tune indeed

Just me being a smart-ass (as usual).
Cool groove, nice instrumentation.  This sounds like something one would hear on SOMA-FM's "Secret Agent" channel.

Thanks for the tip. I watched the performance at the North Sea Jazz Festival Holland 2014
and it's impressive!!

Good morning, and thank you Bill for for introducing me to another cool musician!
This definitely will grow on me if you play it a bit more often!

This reminds me of something that crossed my mind a few years back:

When BillG has some free time on his hands, it would be cool to cross-correlate every "active" RP member's song ratings with all other active members' ratings. Then each active member could know who else has the highest common preferences.

By "active" I mean those who rate songs faithfully and thoughtfully (i.e., not just all high and/or low).

Or just try to recall others whose ratings tend to follow yours, which gets harder with age. :-)
Heard for the first time, played more often, it will definitely grow on me!!

2->10 for me.  I seriously don't know what I was thinking.  I must have been in a bad mood.

Though it's (still) not the kind of music I really appreciate, I am very (positively) suprised to hear Marc  Moulin on RP!

Marc Moulin was a quite known journalist at the RTBF, the national Belgian frenchspeaking television. He was quite known too in the jazz music in Belgium.

He passed away much too soon.
Very nice indeed!

Never heard this before or of the artist - but lovin' it!
Totally diggin' this one.  The funky Middle-Eastern-vibe-influenced trumpet solo caught me completely off guard.  I've been playing trumpet for 36 years and can't say that I've EVER heard anything like that.  Nice! {#Chillpill}{#Meditate}
The trumpet reminds me of Lhasa's Anywhere on this road
Which reminds me that this is one artist that is unexplicably missing from RP's playlist.
Nice, nice, nice.

Really diggin' it!  Never heard it before but love it!  ....we could stand to hear more jazz on RP (just sayin')!
This is the second Jazzy sounding track that I have listened to on RP that I couldn't help but like. Curse you RP!  {#Good-vibes}
Completely digging this groove. This scene needs Kerouac.
Nice...poetry to follow

I hope he gets that "instrument" tuned.
A chopped up and speed-altered Bjork's "Human Behavior"? (Which is itself lifted from a movie soundtrack).
Clicked through to Amazon (again!) and bought this album second hand for a couple of quid. I don't know about you but I do this all the time. I like a track and buy the album (at least RP gets a commission)

What I tend to do is let my basket build up a bit and then buy them all. Sometimes this takes a few months and once I do, I have a stream of new cd's landing on my doormat which I have no idea what they are except I know I liked at least one track.

Its somewhat dangerous, as I am sure you can imagine, but not too expensive when I find there is only one track I like - so I just burn it to high res on my server to add it to my ever increasing digital library and recycle the cd back for sale. . .

Hmmnn, kind of St. Germaine sounding — chill-jazz — I like it
I think a wood wind just flew into my office.

I'll bet this is the kind of stuff Ian Anderson plays when no one is looking.

Wow! Marc Moulin on RP. Impressive.
I haven't listened to this album in years, but gonna pull it out tonight and give it another spin.
Idunno, it kinda sounds a bit like an updated Lalo Schifrin kinda vibe. Except for the trumpet I guess.

Bore me to death
I am sorry but, this is so ordinary.
Reminds me of LTJ Bukem and the album Journey Inwards.
Real bummer I can't get this track from either Amazon or iTunes.

Any other avenues?
Cool!

Yah, bad solo. A trumpeter not skilled in improvisation, to my ears.

Speak for yourself. Like pop there is a ton of crappy jazz out there, but you can't criticize it because jazz snobs just reply "You don't understand jazz." This song however isn't terrible, not great either if I must be honest.

Mmmm, yummy!
Kick it out what with coolness.
I hear little overtures of "Low Spark Of High Heeled Boys" in this...yet original in its own right. Very cool!
This is kind of like Lounge Lizard's "Big Heart" on quaaludes. Or Big Heart is like this on crank. Either way they are both excellent.

Wow! I loved that album but haven't heard it in years. edit-I did some checking and they found the lost master tape in some basement last year. They did a re-release in 2001 but it was off a second generation tape. Last year they released a CD from the original master.

I'm no fan of any sort of jazz, other than blues, but jazz flute really grates. I don't know why, it just gets right up my nose, and this track's no exception. Pretty dated too - redolent of 60s riviera decadence, casinos, Sobranie cigarettes, playboys, the whole old James Bond thing. Goes on an awful long time too, though at least that'll increase my relief when it finally stops...
i hear a lot of miles davis' 'in a silent way' here or was it 'shhh/peaceful? one of the two off that album anyway

Moulin is an original artists who's been at at for quite a while..Most of his work is excellent and there's really no need to try to compare him to anyone..
i'm with aharamanx - this is friggin excellent. more more more!
Ahh, Yeahhh! This is what PARADISE sounds like. Add your own vocals if you like.
Cool sound. I\'m not familiar with Marc Moulin. Is this typical of his style?
