next up, Chuck Mangione, only here on KBAY, the Bay Areas soft rock station
Nothin wrong with Chuck, 'cept the hat.

Knew this was Santana w/o even looking at the screen. Whether or not you like the song, his tone and style are immediately recognizable.
I agree, Carlos' music is usually spot-on identifiable in less than 5 notes! A prized gift to several generations now.
Anyone who hears this Santana Instrumental, knows it as the light that shines and guides our soul.
Very nice!

I had to pause in my work and dance with my wife.
Totally Cool!

I agree! ...Too funny!

Throwing this in while I was shouting along to Moody Blues "Tuesday Afternoon" is exquisitely delicious.
Even 1 year later it's still a good mix

Santana was born in Mexico on July 20, 1947. He learned to play the violin at age five and the guitar at age eight, under the tutelage of his father, who was a ...
Say a prayer and light one up for one of the greatest guitarists, musicians and passionate citizens of modern times. Began the journey in 1966, had a great band early on with huge and awe-inspiring tracks, and is still going touring playing recording with angels and thunder. That is blessed and rare. Carlos, you da man!
You love -- the music, or the divorce? Inquiring minds want blah blah
Both really. It's a laid back tune to listen to while wearing rose-tinted glasses !!

The Walker Brother's "No Regrets" is probably a far more apt piece of music for when the cold glare of reality hits my un-shaded eyes

I thought the same thing - lots of notes and timing in common. Still a nice piece.

That doesn't sound like any of the divorces most of my friends (and one of my ex-gfs) has experienced.
going down

Agreed; he's a very talented guy, but this is elevator music.
Two people at opposite ends of the office said "elevator music?"
It's not bad, just... bland.

This is not rock — smooth jazz, ick.

Best ever?!? I know everyone's entitled to their own opinion, but DAMN - we might need to make an exception for you!

Please make it stop. This is the first time in years I actually thought about changing stations mid song.

Does originality justify it then?
"What on earth is this? Sounds like something off Top Gun."
I rarely feel the need to say anything negative on RP, but on this occasion, it's a definite

Right on! He may use the same scales a lot (Dorian mode and harmonic minor a la "Smooth," and so sounds a bit samey, but I still love his playing.
Stuff like "Europa" live, where he hangs that note in the air for like, minutes. Some cool stuff.
